Hello, I have a question for @Tecnifibre Official

I have been very much enjoying the new Ice Code strings in full bed and I think it's an amazing string!

My question is, I was wondering if people have been using Ice Code as a cross string in a natural gut/poly hybrid, and if you have gotten any feedback about how that setup performs. Is this something you would recommend?

Hi Tomato123. Thank you for the inquiry & kind words for our new family member, Ice Code. I haven't gotten any specific feedback on the set up you mentioned, but I would think that due to the round construction & gliding of the string, it would work rather well. I say, give it a whirl and let us know!
 
I play with Gosen OG Micro 1.25 mains and Ice Code 1.25 cross. Nice feel, great tension maintaince, great control, not stiff... For me, better then Red Code Wax...
 
Does Tecnifibre have any comfort low-power strings? Kind of like Prince Premier Control

Considering getting X-1 Biphase but was wondering if there was a lower-power option

Guess Tecnifibre dont have a comfortable string with low power and high control


Lemme check what danevil medvedev uses, doubt he needs much power from the strings
 
Tecnifibre HDMX is a low powered string.
I feel it is lower powered than x 1 or NRG2.
It is a comfortable hit as well.
Look at the post on it's Playtest on these boards.
 
I would agree with multifeel too. I’m using it currently at 54lbs in my TT100p and 52 in in my PP93P. I like that it’s comfortable and still snaps back into place.

When it snaps in the 93p I’m going back to a ice code / multifeel hybrid. That was an awesome setup

gonna add multifeel to my "to try" strings list

hdx seems like it's lower powered than multifeel, but reviewers complained about lack of spin, and since i tend to hit with a lot of topspin, im gonna skip that one

lowkey, i just wish my arm would get to the state where i could use poly again :cautious:

If you wish for low powered than you should not use multi, gut or sgut. Unmistakenly according to TWU measurements these kind of strings possess more power (energy return) than poly strings. Poly strings have more spin potential too. You could try hybrids, but with multi as mains you would still get a powerfull combination.
 
I've been testing Ice Code 1.20 along with Head Lynx 1.20, full set, 45/42 in my TC100. They're both super fun. I find that Ice Code is barely a little stiffer to the Lynx, but still has added pop on my serves. I'm going to try it at a little lower tension, maybe 43/40 to see what that does.

(and yes, I love low tension, a specific feel. especially being mainy a dubs player, comes in handy haha :D)
 
Hello Tecnifibre. I have a question. What's the (main) difference between Ice Code and Razor Code White? To me they both look, feel and play pretty similar. And they seem to have almost exact specs according to TW string comparison tool.

my family loves tgv but hdx close second...plus seems to last longer. great strings!

Hi. My apologies for the absence.....no excuses, other than life gets in the way. I'll try to be better ;).

The main difference between Ice Code & Razor Code is best summed up with the below:
Ice Code is a more powerful poly vs. Razor Code. However, it is not necessarily a soft poly - but a firmer one, getting its power through our propriety construction & technology. Even though it's firmer, I would say that Razor Code is stiffer than Ice.

Want extra control? Go with Razor Code
Want a balance between power & control: Go with Ice Code

Hey @Tecnifibre Official - loving HDMX 1.25 in my Wilson Blades at 56 lbs (I am a convert from X1) - what is next for HDMX? Seems like it needs some additional colours/products in the range - I know something is coming - where can we find more info? Many thanks!

Thanks for the detailed reply. I am pretty much a Volkl Cyclone Tour 1.30mm user (8+ years) now, but I have commented multiple times IMO Tecnfibre makes the best and largest range of multifilaments, with Wilson seemingly at the #2 spot. When I do put your strings in my frames, it has been to playtest them so I can suggest them to customers. I have 70 packs of HDX Tour 1.35mm remaining, reels of X1 1.30mm, 30+ packs of Multifeel 1.30mm, along with another dozen-plus packs of NRG2 1.32 mm and HDX Tour 1.30mm. HDX Tour 1.35/ Yonex Poly Tour Air 1.25 or Isospeed Cream 1.28mm has worked well for 4.0/4/.5 guys with sore elbows. Tecnifibre's strings are exactly cheap, but you get what you pay for, and I purchase them on sale as much as possible. I also hybrid some clients with other multis like Head Velocity crosses to save them $5 a setup.

I will hit with HDMX 1.35mm again, but for now, I have managed to get a few 4.5 clients to switch over to it in their crosses from HDX Tour. Just a note, HDMX felt less crisp to me than HDX Tour and as a fan of X1 over NRG2, I like the crispness of X1 and HDX Tour. I use your multis in 1.35mm simply because they last maybe a week longer. :) The added durability of HDX Tour, and HDMX over the same gauge X1 is why I use those strings.

And yep, I think the Tecnifibre Pro Contact is superior to Wilson's Pro Overgrip. I just prefer buying overgrips in 30 or 50 packs as I sell them to clients who asks for new overgrips. Neither Wilson nor Yonex (Supergrap) make their best overgrips in 12, 30 or 50 packs of blue. Here's your chance to corner the market for a blue overgrip that isn't Tourna's. :). Many clients don't like Tourna Original Overgrip, so it's Wilson's Pro Overgrip or Yonex Supergrap for them. I have room on my shelves for some Tecnfibre Pro Contact 12/30/50 packs.
 
Just a quick question:
I play with Tecnifibre Razor Code 16 currently. I absolutely love it. I was on a trip when I ran out of string, and the only place that I wanted to get it was off of the bay. The reel came in, and it looked like the real package, and felt like the real string. The only problem was that it had no/very little writing on the string. Is this normal, or did I get ripped off? I know normally there is a lot of Tecnifibre writing on the string.

One more question. I got a killer deal on a reel of Pro Red Code 16, and decided to buy it. Came in fine(had writing on the string like a normal tecnifibre) and it looks pretty good. Just wanted to know, how does it compare to Razor Code? Is it stiffer, softer? I just felt it a bit, and it feels very, very similar, but I just want to know what to expect when I string it up.

Hi......in the multifilament line, it would be TGV followed by NRG2. In the Fusion line, it would be HDMX and finally for Poly - I would say either Black Code or 4S. Hope this helps and I'm here if you need to drill down further.

Hi LeatherBlade. You have great timing (or better said, I kept forgetting to jump over to this thread also). We just started talking about a new string TRIAX. You can see someone posted about it above. It is a firmer, more controllable string than HDMX. Some info & background:

Tecnifibre has launched a new string category called MULTI-POLY FUSION. I will call it FUSION going forward. The FUSION strings take our popular multifilament (polyamide) fibers - and we have been able to innovate and make multifilament POLY fibers. Here is where we apply the magic. Since these two fibers basically don't like eachother and try to pull away from eachother - we have found a way to weave them together and then infuse them with the PU you find in our multifilaments like NRG & X1. The best elements from both string types!

This creates a line of strings that fills the much needed gap between multifilaments & poly. More durable & firmer strings. The new strings are:
HDMX: a softer, plusher feel in the FUSION category. A good match for someone who needs a pinch of extra durability and a pinch more firmness
RPX: a remix of Duramix. A 50/50 mix of basic fibers - at an affordable price. Not released yet. A price point in the FUSION category
TRIAX: this is a special string and launching soon. While HDMX is closer to a traditional mutlifilament, TRIAX is closer to poly. The firmest, most controllable & durable string in the FUSION Category. I like to say it's a multifilament for poly players.

Keep your eyes open.....you'll start to see some nice opportunities to snag a set. Tennis Warehouse will have it soon and sales begin on 7/31.

Hi ptennisb. Thank you for your questions. In regards to the reel of Razor Code. Not sure I can answer this - unless you can tell me who you purchased it from on ****. I can see if they are an authorized dealer. However, I would discourage buying from there for the exact reasons you say.

On paper, Red Code is a softer poly (vs Razor Code). It has a outer resin which will help with snapback also. Enjoy and let me know your experience with it!

Thank you for taking the time to read about the new string. Yes, perhaps the elements may not be revolutionary - but the process is where you'll note the difference. A process to the poly fibers and then the trick is in the process and blending of the fibers. . But hey - don't take it from me.....give it a whirl and let's connect and talk it through.
 
Hi @Tecnifibre Official, my daugther is a 15yr old UTR 9 eith solid national ranking. Just went through string testing to get a boost in anticipation of tournaments resuming. Anyway, after testing multiple well known quality poly strings and hybrids from various brands, she landed on a full bed of Black Code 4S. Hidden gem perhaps? Clearly at the top of her list. Congrats on a fine product amongst many (I play with your superb TF40 frame).

Still I think it would be more honest from Tecnifibre to include your multifilament poly releases in the timeline shown on your site...

You're implying it's something soooo new but multilaments with polyester fibers aren't new.
Granted you're stating these are co-poly fibers but still, not mentioning even one of your multis with poly fibers is dishonest from my point of view.

Nevertheless keeping my fingers crossed that your product is as good as You advertise.

fwiw, just two days ago I strung up my first ever set of HDMX in my own frame and though I think I missed on the tension it could be a new favorite.

Triax really interests me now — very much looking forward to a go with this one, too.

Any chance you could bring back HDX Tour in 1.30 and 1.35mm reels? Did HDX Tour not sell well enough or was there feedback that lead to it being morphed into HDMX?

I never quite understood the 20 pack box packaging personally. Absolutely hate throwing away 3.5' feet of string when I use it as a cross. The only string that shouldn't come in a reel is Natural Gut.

Hi Slick Tennis. Congrats on your daughters solid national ranking and thank you for the kind words. I like how you phrased "hidden gem". For me, my relationship was problematic.....While we never broke up, it took me alittle bit to come back around and indeed find its true essence. I'm also finding more more players saying the same thing about this string. Time to sit up and take notice!!! Side note: we just changed the string name to be simply 4S. Please know it is the EXACT same thing, but we needed to separate it from the Black Code label - since it is an entirely different string and not just simple Black Code with edges.

Hi Automatix. Thank you for your posts and kind words about our presence here on the boards. I promise I will try to be better with my time here. String are my A.B.S.O.L.U.T.E. favorite topic, so I would like to encourage more dialogue with everyone. Also you pushing us on this new string and its positioning is appreciated. It helps us see past our own limitations and how we talk/present the string. So, I see this an an opportunity!

With the recent global events, we missed some of that crucial time where we got the string out there with our own personal testers and constructed our personal voice when positioning the string. So all of a sudden it is time for the launch!! For me, I hope in the 9 years since X-Code was around - our technology advancements have improved. I can say for certain they have. No dishonesty, truly. I think Tecnifibre feels this is an entirely new string with new technology developed over the past year+. Not the elements - but the construction and process.

Starting soon you will see opportunities to get the string just prior to launch. Not sure If I'm allowed to say where & when - but keep an eye open on TW :). I would kindly ask if you are so inclined to purchase a set and let's reconnect and chat about your experience. Proof is in the pudding!
