HDX Tour is another premium string as it uses some of the same fibers that NRG and X-One have (Elastyl for power) but it is in a realm of its own compared to our other multis. One of the largest differences is the the elasticity of the string compared to X-One and NRG as these two strings are rated at 400% elasticity compared to only 100% on HDX tour. While I am unsure how these numbers are derived, I do know that it creates a stiffer feel which helps with control and spin potential. I always refer to it as a "hybrid in one" as a third of the string is also made of polyester microfibers which give you some of the characteristics of poly while still being a softer safer option for those who can't/shouldnt be using poly.

Personally this is my favorite string we make and I have been so happy to see it has finally started to grow a real strong following since its launch in 2014. If you ever hybrid, this would be an awesome string to try as a full bed next time you're thinking about experimenting.

Thanks for the recommendation! We don't have the neon pack in the US, but we do have the red, white and blue pack now. I haven't heard any plans to bring over the neon pack, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.

Do you have a rough recommended tension for multifeel with a DR 98 in a full bed and also a hybrid with a poly setup? I'm reading I should tension multifeel lower than other multis or is that inaccurate? Thanks

Am I just imagining things here ?? I tested X-1 biphase 17 G and 18 G. and it feels like 17 G was giving me more power. but usually thinner strings are supposed to give you more power, I had been told in the past. But I tried these two several times and I always felt like 17 G gave me more power. Why is that ? Then what about 16 G ? Would that give me even more power ?

When are we getting a Razor Code RUFF string?

What ever happened to Rough Code? Seems a rough string is missing from the Tecnifibre lineup.

Also. Hoe are things going with Red Code Wax? I had a bad experiencie coming from orig RedC, its the fastest snapping poly Ive ever used! Red Code was waaaaay more longer-lasting.

I haven't heard anything about us developing a new rough poly, but that doesn't mean we won't do it! One thing is for certain when it comes to us and string: we will not release a new string just to put something out. We will definitely take our time with new strings to make sure they are just right before coming out with them, as evidenced by us not releasing a new string at all in the last 3 years.

Wax and original Red Code are certainly two different strings! Wax was never really intended to be the "next version" of Red Code, nor does it have the same characteristics. That certainly is interesting that it was snapping so quick for you because it is actually (across the board) very comparable to the durability of original Red Code. The Wax that is saturated throughout the string (instead of just a coating like many polys out there) helps create a lot of durability. Might be worth giving it another shot!

Hey Eric, I would just like to know if there is a new multi with colors coming out in the near future? I would also like to know if you guys have a super thin replacement grip and over-grip in the making? Thanks for your help. It would be nice to get over-grips in solid colors alone without being sold as three assorted color grips ( green, yellow and pink). An all green or yellow color would be nice.

At the moment, I have only heard rumors that we have invested in some new R/D at the factory to better improve upon and adding more colored strings. I am hoping to find out more later this month though during our sales meeting. As for grips, I dont know if you will be seeing an all green or yellow from us as it seems we are going to continue with the red white and blue cosmetics for racquets, which usually influences the colors of all of our accessories. But in the meantime, I would consider looking into either our leather replacement grip or Pro Dry overgrip as they are out thinnest and come in at 1.5mm, and 0.4mm, respectively. Pro Dry was my personal favorite when living in Miami since it did an amazing job at combating the humidity and sweaty palms. Since moving to Vegas though, I am back to using pro contact as I need something much tackier.

I like hdx better in a bybrid than full bed.

did you all ever do a comperason test as to how color affects feel?
tec.blackcode is now available in diff. Colors, just wondering what the stiffness difference are.? An official chart/test findings would help. Tnx..

Guys I am experimenting with a multi main poly cross. I have tried Any recommendations from the experts. I am looking for a softer feel than a full bed of poly but more control and spin than a full multi. I am also trying to avoid the expense of gut. Would X-1 be a good main multi and if sonwhich poly would you pair with it.

I know we do internal testing at our factory to ensure our strings play how you would expect to when introducing new colors. Unfortunately I do not have access to this data but I would not expect to find a noticeable difference between them.

Hey Paul, I would really try HDX Tour as you pretty much described exactly what that string is meant to do. It is a multifilament but the way it is constructed makes it more stiff/control oriented than X-One. It's my personal favorite as HDX is essentially a hybrid in one as 1/3 is made of polyester fibers.

There has been some design changes from her previous white Rebound frame so that may be the difference you are seeing. The new Rebound series has a "variable beam" so certain areas are thinner such as the throat and thicker towards 9 and 3 o'clock. As for tension, I do not have this information but I can try to ask around and see what I find!

Eric thanks for the recommendation I will string it up for some weekend play...a nice test as I will play with my sons who are 4.5 -5.0 players. Hopefully they take it easy on me on Fathers day.

Eric, Thanks for the advice on HDX, great spin for a multi, comfortable, I did try a full bed of it and it was powerful. I may need to tame it a bit with a hybrid of soft poly as a cross. I played with two of my sons who hit with a great deal of spin and pace and I did not need to generate my own power like I would normally do with guys at my age and level.

I work at a tennis center that carries Tecnifibre, and I love the new colored black code strings. Of course I'd like to see them in 18 or even 19 gauge maybe 4s colored too, and possibly a bright neon pink!!!!!

of course thin strings play less powerful, they string tighter giving more control-ball travels less distance in court, but the competitive player wants this control so he can swing harder and harder and still keep the ball in the court. maybe break his opponents arm if his opponent does move out of the way. Sometimes the 17 gauge over the 16 ga almost seems like an entirely different string. Borg had strings strung so tight he almost could not hit the ball out but could place it on a dime. his shots would really dip if his opponent were at the net. I string my tech string 17 gauge even tighter and love swinging really hard at the ball- it just does not go out but with a faster swing the ball flies

Hi, I need a bit of help. Just bought a reel of Black Code 4S from the bay. When I received it the reel looks like it's half empty... Is this normal? The man says that it's 200m and not 110m and says that it's how they are. @Tecnifibre Official and anyone else, could you please let me know whether the reel is supposed to look like all others, or if they look more empty. I can't find any images of a full 200m reel from the back, just the front cover (which doesn't show the string).

I am originally from upstate N.Y. and I found my passion for tennis in my freshman year of college. This was the first time I had ever picked up a racquet but I instantly fell in love with the sport and knew I wanted to work within the industry. Throughout school, I had completed two internships at tournaments hosted here in the U.S. The first was at The Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati where I did a mix of preparing the grounds and player security. The other as at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. which focused more on the management side of things. Both tournaments were wonderful experiences and only further fueled my interest in the sport.

Upon graduating, I reached out to Tecnifibre and was hired in 2014 to spearhead their college sales and customer service efforts. Two years later, I was offered and accepted the position to manage the Western territory which includes AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, NM, OR, UT, WA, and WY. So far, it has been a great opportunity to grow within the Tecnifibre family and to see the other half of country.

I look forward to hearing about your experiences in the sport as well and hope to provide some further insight on our products!

I was born and raised in Atlanta and love getting to call it home! I am a huge fan of all Atlanta sports teams, which pretty much always leads to disappointment (just don’t mention the Super Bowl and we’ll be good). I had never picked up a tennis racquet until my junior year of college when I started working for Tecnifibre. I was offered an internship with our National Sales Manager, who I have known since my elementary school days, and I haven’t looked back since! I was brought on full time after graduating college as our Communication Manager and College Sales Manager and have since moved into a new role as our Relationship Manager, while still maintaining all of our Communication efforts here in the US. My role has allowed me to travel quite a lot over the past couple years for both tennis and squash.

Being an “outsider” in the tennis industry, it has been fun learning about both the industry and the sport over the last few years and I fall more in love with it seemingly day by day. I personally have arm/shoulder issues which hinder my game a little, but it also helps give me a good knowledge on our products that are very arm friendly, including NRG. Looking forward to tag teaming this with Eric and hopefully providing answers to all of your questions!

I absolutely adore Red Code 16G, after 7 years of searching finally found the only string that can dramatically reduce my unforced errors, has been a literal godsend.

Any word on new strings coming out from Tecnifibre that are control-based?

Hey Nick, I am sponsored by Technifibre through the Danish rep here in Denmark. I have been using HDX and am considering going over to Multifeel black. I would like to know how the natural, blue and black compare to each other. How stiff is the Multifeel black compared to the natural and the blue? I would also like to know how the Multifeel compares to TGV natural? I really like colors in strings and hope that you guys will add green and yellow.

Hey Technifibre, I work at a sporting goods store and we sell the following multifilaments: Duramix, XR3, and X-One Biphase.
A number of people that visit us restring only once a string has broken maybe once every 6 months (playing once or twice a week). Is there a recommendation you could make for the average club player with flat strokes if they never intend to restring. Also what would be the main differences between the three strings?
