I agree with breakfast_of_champions. I don't see how any year can be deemed better than a Grand Slam, much less a "Golden" Slam!

Of the Lendl years, I think 1986 is the most impressive, followed by '87, then '85. Lendl won the most titles in '85, but he won only one major. He won two majors in each of the other years, and in '86 he also had his highest winning percentage (0.925). (Lendl reached the final of Wimbledon in '86 as well, and the Australian Open wasn't even held that year. He truly had one of the greatest years ever.)
