Ten burning questions as we head towards New York:

1. Who will give Novak Djokovic his biggest test in the Big Apple?
2. Will Coco Gauff make it back to the quarterfinals?
3. Is Aryna Sabalenka about to go on a tear?
4. Which players will benefit the most from a super-fast court?
5. Will Carlos Alcaraz right the ship in time to win the title?
6. Is Jannik Sinner's loosey-goosey hip going to play a factor?
7. Does Iga Swiatek close out the Slam season with a splash?
8. Will we see a surprise semifinalist on the men's side?
9. Who are the dark horses (outside top 10) for a deep run?
10. Is there anyone outside of the top 4, who you would bet on to win the whole thing?

1) I think it's Sinner on hardcourt, if he reaches him.
2) I believe so, yes.
3) I don't know exactly what you mean, but IMO she won't win the tournament.
4) Who says it will be super-fast? The US Open was actually never SUPER-fast...
5) He won't DEFEND his title, because that ship already sailed last year against Medvedev. And I don't think he wins this year either.
6) Not too much I guess.
7) I hope so, but I doubt it. She really needs to win one outside RG very soon though.
8) Could we say so if Rublev wins a QF for the first time? Not really I would say. Anyway, Djokovic, Alcaraz and Sinner are a safe bet, and I'd say the other is someone out of Zverev, Medvedev, Rublev.
9) Musetti and all of the American guys Fritz, Paul, Korda and Tiafoe. At the women's side literally everyone is possible.
10) No! At the men's side because nobody has a chance. At the women's side because I couldn't say who specifically could be it.
