TENEX stringing machine, HELP!

I just purchased a TENEX stringing machine (made in the 80s?), with stand, gliding clamps, crank type, without its manual, I'm still puzzled on some of its features/usage, if someone out there who has worked with this machine before and know where I can get some info/manual please advise. It's a solid piece of equipment, and shares some of the Gamma clamps, I have yet to figure out the correct way to mount racquet on this machine and how to work the gliding clamps properly, especially on the crosses, thanks in advance.

It sounds like you picked up a 4000. This is a Gamma machine, back then they used the TENEX brand for thier non-Gamma strings & some of their other items.

If you contact Gamma they can give you any details that you might need.

My TENNEX 4000 is a 1987 model with a stand that has one long and three shorter legs and a round tool tray., if yours can mount a wide body such as a Prince Thuderstick.it has the longer Clamp to hold down the throat and is from 1990 or was upgraded after the first widebodies came out.

I mount the handle on the part that slides to adjut for lenght. The machine came with several plastic pieces that were to aid in mounting different frames. The top has two arms that the frame res on at 11 & 1 o'clock.
Hope this helps.

if you go to GAMMA Sport's website http://gammasports.com/ you can download discontinued machine manuals. Look on the left side for "Product Manuals" then go down to the 4000 & 6000 machines. These were the only 2 machine like this we had and have parts for.

Thanks. Of course I haven't known where the manual is for years. Truth is, I haven't needed it.

Does anybody know what kind of company Tenex used to be? My parents have two racquets from the 80's made of ceramic, and their brand is Tenex. Was it owned by Gamma or something? I'm just curious to know since I've never heard of such company in my life.

I don't know about the rackets, but as I said in an earlier post, TENEX was a brand that GAMMA used in this time frame. I looked in one of my old Stringers Digest, but couldn't find a mention of the frame.

Alright, thanks for the info...I would have never thought of GAMMA and TENEX having any connection. Interesting indeed.

These TENEX frames were bought by my parents in Korea when I wasn't even born, I believe. A funny thing I found is that they have something similar to Wilson's PWS at 3&9 o'clock positions called WBS (I don't know what it stands for). And the frames themselves are quite hefty.
