Tennis apparel for winter matches?

I live in texas and winters are not cold compared to michigan but it's still cold none the less if you play matches in tshirt and shorts.

So what do ppl wear during outdoor tennis matches in the winter? Afternoon matches mostly. Some night.

Check out the warm up outfits at Tennis Warehouse. You can probably get them at clearance prices as summer is coming to an end. You'll pay more when winter arrives.

Where I am, tennis is year round and the weather between summer and winter have slight differences.

The only clothing change I make is one, no undies in the summer and undies in the winter. Everything else is pretty much the same.

Under 65 - 70 degrees I use an excellent pant from Nike, DriFit, unlined-"anytime pant". TW had them on sale for $30, normally $55. Excellent pant-looks and feels great. Code # NMAPTBK3

Under 55-65 degrees I use lined warm-ups from Ellesse, soft finished polyester, but others make good ones too. I don't like the "harder" finished nylon warmups typical of track suits as they seem to inhibit some movements and make "noise", brushing sound, that I find distracting.

Under 40-45 degrees I do not play. Too easy to pull a muscle.

That begs the very important question: where is POGOLAND?? So you only have to vary on undies!!

POGOLAND is in Northern California. POGO has not denied this.

Anyway, in the winter I still wear shorts, but instead of a Dr-Fit poly type top, I wear a white cotton T-Shirt (insulates better), with a cotton vest over it. Some of my vests are made with a sweatshirt type material so they keep my core warm. I don't like playing with long sleeves even when it's pretty cold as they inhibit my movement and arm swings.

A cotton VEST????

Where I live now, like as POGO said, doesnt have "winter" weather. But I used to live in the *******, so my winter was like the underneath of penguins bottom (I think thats cold?). So I'd usually wear 2 plain hanes t-shirts, regular shorts (unless if its practice, then I'd usually wear sport-type pants), and the most important is the heat-packs that you shake up and it's like instant heat, so that way you can hold them when you feel like you have frostbite.

ATX, cotton vests are the best thing to come since sliced bread, I'm not positive about the vests BP wears, but I'm talking about the argyle cotton vests.

Yummmmm......Sliced bread.....

POGOLAND is just east of the Hawaiian Islands, West of the Mississippi, just North of Mexico and Just South of B.C Canada. That is POGOLAND.

Yes, pullover vests made of mostly cotton. Some are just like the material you'll find in a sweatshirt and some are more like cotton sweaters but without sleeves. I have like 12 of them. (No, no argyles, just solids.) They are indeed the best thing since sliced bread. Keeps me very warm but does not hinder any of my strokes whatsoever. You should be able to find lots of them in golf stores, as they are also very popular with golfers. All kinds of other department stores have them, too. I know that Nike and Adidas sometimes has some that are made for tennis (although that makes no difference). Any golf or other vest made from cotton breathes well and are machine washable works well since you'll be sweating in them.

it must not be too great to be playing in texas during the summer i think. but texas in the winter would be a dream winter for me. i would play in just shorts if i could have a 55 to 65 degree annual winter.

I *wish* the winters in Texas were 55-65. It's more like 35-65. And I play at night a lot so it's closer to the lower end of that range for me LOL. Hell it snowed here the other day ...

I just wear normal shorts. Then I'll wear a regular shirt and then a long-sleeve shirt over that. Once I'm warmed up, just take off the long-sleeve shirt and wear the regular shirt.
