Tennis ball cans $2/ea, yet a case of 24 costs MORE than $48 !?!

That doesn't count shipping either!
I don't get this perverted pricing logic. Why do balls by the dozen cans cost MORE ?
Is it for the convenience of not having to buy an entire shopping cart full of indiv. $2 cans?

Screw this, I'll go to Target and buy 12 cans for $24.

I was just wondering about the same thing today. So much for bulk discounts. I'm going to clean out a few targets and walmarts to get 30 cans of balls for my ball machine. $1.99 a piece.

You didn't mention which type of ball. Big box stores generally sell cheaper balls
than somewhere like TW who also carries premium balls.

I generally don't like any ball i can get for $2 per can although i have used them many times.

If you're referring to the exact same ball, I totally understand and would head to Costco as well.

I find that ProPenns hold up a lot longer than regular Penns. I've started using a pressureball tube that prolongs the life of tennis balls and it works pretty well. I'll pay for it in another month.

A can of tennis balls have not gone up in price since the 80s. In fact, I think they are cheaper today not even accounting for inflation. Back in the day, we used to do all we can to make balls last and played with them until all the fuzz fell off.
