Tennis Channel and TIVO

Hey, anyone notice this week that the schedule for the tennis channel on thier TIVO does not match the programming?

For example, my TIVO grabbed a few programs labled "Center Court" or "Joe Dinoffer's Instructionals" but they ended up being France vs. Russia Davis Cup when you watch the recorded clip.

What's up with that? Did the Tennis Channel not release an line-up this week?

They are Davis Cup crazy this week. I've noticed that their announced programming hardly ever matches what is actually on. Hopefully, after this week, they won't show so much France/Russia and USA/Chile.

True, they are showing the Davis Cup matches alot. No so bad since those are some good matches. However, I've never had a problem where the announced channel line-up doesn't match what they show. Hope they fix that.

How would you rate the Tennis Channel on a scale from 1-10 and why? I'm curious because I'm considering getting it.

I'd give it a 6.5 - you can check out the shows that the Tennis channel offers here: http://www.thetennischannel.com/programs/all_shows.aspx

It has some great coverage of Davis cup and other tournaments. It has some good shows like center court, which is a one-on-one interview with a pro - the recently had Sampras and Blake on. Also the show "No Strings" is good. It's sort of a day-in-the-life of a pro. The recent one with Tommy Haas was funny. He was hitting on all the Hooters chicks when they went there for lunch.

They also have a few instructional vidoes from Joe Dinoffer and Nick Bollettieri.

The down side is that alot of the shows repeat constantly. They've been showing Davis Cup match replays for almost a week now. There are also alot of info-mercials and some shows -USTA today - Tennis Insiders - just put you to sleep.

Thay also need to do an ESPN like tennis highlight/news show, but as far as I can tell, they don't have one.

If you are a hard core tennis fan, I say get it. If you can't wait for the majors and don't care about davis cup, don't get it.

The reason I have it is that it's part of a sports pack - and comes with soccer channel I really like. I didn't start watching the tennis channel until about two months ago when I started playing tennis again after a ling break.
