Nothing like "the slams" and how the Tennis Channel (RE: "Home of the Slams" :-D:-D:-D:-D) puts it's paying customers through the need to search for who they sold their broadcast to this time....

And of course putting their customers through the expense of paying twice for the same coverage:

Is it the Disney Channel???

Is it ESPN+?

Let's spin the dial!

Anyone know?

I believe ESPN currently has exclusive broadcasting rights to the U.S. Open in the United States. No Tennis Channel, no CBS (the latter of which dropped its U.S. Open weekend coverage package a few years ago).

I think watching tennis in India has gotten easier by OTTs, just get Voot, Discovery+, Hotstar and Sony LIV and it's all covered. Quite inexpensive deals tbh. Not sure whether these work on VPN though. If they do - should surely try.

USO is being shown in Sony LIV app in India.

Tennis Channel is currently running a marathon of Serena's greatest matches, if you're interested in that.

OK, thank you. So the answer TC is it is the "Home to the Slams" minus the US Open where ESPN is the "Home to that Slam" and then minus the other slams where TC sells the rites to those others I guess I am trying to find out where is the "Home to the Slams"?

I believe Tennis Channel is the exclusive cable broadcaster for the French Open (NBC also televises matches) and carries some of the matches at the Australian Open (though ESPN is the primary U.S. broadcaster for that tournament). ESPN has the broadcasting rights to Wimbledon as well as the U.S. Open.

I should note each individual Grand Slam negotiates its TV contracts with U.S. and other broadcasters around the world. If Wimbledon and the U.S. Open decide to sign an exclusive broadcasting contract with ESPN, there isn't a lot the Tennis Channel can do about that, unless they come to a suballocation agreement with ESPN.

Does Tennis Channel call itself the Home to the Slams? I guess I haven't heard them say that (they could have, not doubting you)...but yeah as I understand it ESPN has the rights for AO, Wimbledon & USO. Not a lot they can do about that and think they've handled it as best they can by rebroadcasting the matches during the hours they are allowed. Not sure why they aren't putting up a presence at the slams any more (about the last few years)...such as even though they don't do the live broadcast, I thought they used to have a desk at the tournament for interviews etc to supplement their coverage. Also weird to have their analysts calling the matches from Santa Monica vs the actual venue (but I guess it works anyway).

I think they do coverage of all the other tournaments well enough and if there's enough popularity of tennis for a bigger network like ESPN to show a slam that is a benefit to keep more people interested in the sport (as long as their coverage doesn't torpedo the sport--as sometimes they definitely falter in that area, especially NBC with French Open final is sort of a joke).

Yes, it was their big slogan. You know what... Now I can't find any word of it anyplace on their web site. Well I guess they saw the same irony I did.
