I'm moving to Paris for a year and want to keep my standard of tennis up. I'm 21 and looking to play quite a few tournaments/matches if possible. I'm from the UK and I'm at 5.0/5.5 level.

Can anyone recommend any good clubs in Paris that are not too expensive to join and would allow me to play some competitive games? Not too bothered about location as long as there accessible on the Metro. Are there clubs where you can pay and play? or are all "members" clubs?

If not how do I enter tournaments in France?

Old post so you might already have your answers.
pratically every club in France are members only but you should be able to play as a guest invited by a member for a "small" fee... note the "" regarding small. in or near paris, that fee is usually outrageous for the quality of the service offered. anyway.

in Paris you also have the city managed courts that are available to anyone on a pay and play system, it's called Paris Tennis
7.5€ per hour for an outdoor court, 14€ for an indoor at full price, maybe a little less if you're a student. online booking which is almost always full after office hours and week-ends.

To enter a tournament you'll need a license and to have a license you have to be a member in a club...
don't think it has changed lately.

after that it's finding a good partner that can be challenging :)

That's pretty cheap for court hire.
