tennis in seattle?

You answered your own question in a prior posts. The one you left out was the Seattle Tennis Club = 10 wait list & $$$$$$. Nordstrom Tennis Ctr = for Alumi/students.

I agree the Central Pk is the best - I play about 3 miles down the road. For indoor I'm either at Amy Yee-Robinswood-Nordstrom or the Bellevue Club.

how much are clubs in seattle? i live in shoreline btw. maybe sometime we can gather some people and play somewhere, thatd be cool.

EDIT: ok i looked at the website for central park. certainly too rich for my blood at the moment. once i get a job i can probably do it.

Seattle-area clubs

If you live in Shoreline, there are several just north of you - Forest Crest in Mountlake Terrace, Harbor Square in Edmonds and Columbia Athletic Club in South Everett.

Depends on where in "Seattle" But uh... all the ones mentioned above would be OK except for seattle tennis club, unless you are a BALLER, and by that I mean a lot of money, then go for it. Seattle tennis club has a great view of lake washington but like the guy said up there, buttloads of money. :D If you are farther south, Boeing employees tennis club and bally's.

hey guys, i'm from washington too. That'd be cool if we can get a group with all the people from seattle/bellevue to play with each other. I usually play at UW and sometimes the Nordstrom Tennis Center. I play in Bellevue too. Let me know if you wanna meet up.

lets play dude. i have friends that go to UW. a couple of them go to wednesday's tennis club, do you go to that?

i don't do the tennis club on wednesday, i just play for fun. I'm about a 3.5 on bad days to 4.0. But we should do it soon before school starts!

I was getting ready to make another thread with this exact same title.

Once the middle of May arrives I will be departing for Seattle, so it goes without saying that I will need a bit of help finding tennis.

Hopefully I will have the pleasure of hitting with a few of you.

Wow! I was about to do the same... Im moving to Seattle/Bellvue in the middle of May too. I took a look at the Central Park brochure... and even though its seems like a great facility, its a ripoff.

How busy is Nordstrom, specially in the winters? I have to find an apartment close to a good indoor facility because of the wet weather

It would be great to get together and play in the summer... do you guys play in the USTA league

Im a 4.5, baseliner

Also one of you said central park was a rip off. IT might seem like that from first glance. but there are no court fees you can play as much as you want. and the courts and the club is the second best in the area(seattle tennis club is first),

:) It was I. I guess you may have a point... I should do a cost benefit analysis... when an equity based membership pays off at Central Park. So since the Seattle Tennis club is better, it must be more expensive right? Any ball park figures? And did someone here mention theres a 10 yr wait to get in?

I think STC is more of a gentleman's club, old people going around, luxury tennis club. But I may be wrong since I've never actually been there but from what I heard from friends.

tennis in the redmond area

would anyone like to hit... Im a 4.0 - 4.5 in the redmond area and am up for playing at grasslawn.

Do you guys know of a place where I can do pickup games... at UW maybe?

Its frustrating not being able to play...

Anyone interested in setting up some doubles (4.0-4.5) ? I'll be in town from the 2nd to 16th on business and would love to play some doubles in the Seattle area.

I'd love to, but I'm the world's worst doubles player (I'd probably be rated 2.5 in dubs) and there's a tournament I'm probably going to be playing during that time too. If either of these change, I'll give a shout.

Do you have the tourney details? Is it a USTA event? Thanks . . .

Oops, I looked and it is happening right after you leave. Here it is:

So, are you in for just hitting, or do you want to play some competitive 4.0/4.5 doubles? I'm entering just for the experience of getting my lunch handed to me (double bagels) but it's later than I thought so I should have some time to hit when you're in town.

I don't have the wheels or a patient mindset like I use to, to play singles anymore since I have been playing doubles for so long. Just get 3 of your friends together we'll play a friendly game of doubles. Thanks man . . .

I am up for some double :) Midlife, you know how to contact me. Looking for a new job so will have free time on hand if not going for interviews :)

Tennis in Seattle? That must be where Safin learned. Him and his dark moods... all too resemblant of myself. :(

kkh713x, welcome to the Seattle area. I haven't tried to arrange anything since I'm nursing some overuse injuries from playing the tournament. I'm dealing with some tender knees and ankles, and I pulled something in my serving shoulder. The ravages of old age.

I'll see how I'm doing after the weekend and see if I can put something together.

Sounds good. Weather has been iffy to say the least. Anyone have access to any indoor courts that want to hit sometime this week? I am free after 6:30 pm everyday pretty much . . .

hi guys, we have a group that plays in kitsap too / port orchard /bremerton

I just played a league match at the Bainbridge Athletic Club. Nice, new facility, with five indoor courts (two in a permanent bubble). They're purple and green, and almost identical in speed to the ones at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.

That's a cool club... last time we played a league match there @ 7:30PM and it was on the same night as a Mariners game... almost missed the ferry ;)

Finished the match soon enough to enjoy beer before catching the last boat home.

If any of you are willing to drive into the renton area, I can play you. Singles or dubs, 3.5-4.0 lvl, in my lower 20s. PM or email me.

Tennis in the University District

With school winding down, I'm gonna have more time to play. Wondering if there's any 4.0-4.5 players near the University District wanting to play as a hitting partner over the summer.
