Not much, actually. The world #3 at the prime age of 28 years old has been defeated by the 38 year old legend from Serbia in a non-competitive 4 setter. What does it say about the current state of the ATP tour?
It says the GOAT is still playing at a high level when he cares to, which is excellent for the state of tennis.
You think Zverev should walk away from this loss with his head held high because Djokovic was his opponent? Not much, actually.
There's no shame in losing to GOAT.
This. It‘s not like he just lost against Monfils lol.Not much, actually.
There's no shame in losing to GOAT.
The CIE coined term suggests we have been a weak era since at least mid 2016The world #3 at the prime age of 28 years old has been defeated by the 38 year old legend from Serbia in a non-competitive 4 setter. What does it say about the current state of the ATP tour?
Djokovic did the same to Alcaraz at the Australian Open earlier this year. The world #3 at the prime age of 28 years old has been defeated by the 38 year old legend from Serbia in a non-competitive 4 setter. What does it say about the current state of the ATP tour?
It says the GOAT is still playing at a high level when he cares to, which is excellent for the state of tennis.
No offense to Novak but if he played the level today against someone like sinner or alcaraz he'd get straight setted. It says the GOAT is still playing at a high level when he cares to, which is excellent for the state of tennis.
Although #4 seed Fritz did lose to Monfils at the Australian Open.This. It‘s not like he just lost against Monfils lol.
I swear Djokovic could hit a winner on every single point and people would still cry about his age. He played well. Give him so credit.
Yeah, as if Alcaraz isn't losing to the 38 years old time after time. Sinner managed not to lose to him for quiet a while, but I'm really not sure this streak isn't going to end now.Tennis is getting better. It was in shambles in 2020-2023/24. Younger players are finally stepping up, even if those steps are more like baby steps for the moment.
Zverev still being terrible is old news.
Alcaraz's losses have been disappointing but at least he brought the goods in two Wimbledon finals. Again, his progression has been slower than I'd like but you have to be kidding me if you think this isn't an improvement over two of the worst generations in the entire Open Era (Dimitrov, Raonic, Nishikori, and then Medvedev, Zverev, and Tsitsipas).Yeah, as if Alcaraz isn't losing to the 38 years old time after time. Sinner managed not to lose to him for quiet a while, but I'm really not sure this streak isn't going to end now.
Bring it.If Sinner's level the last week is the Sinner Novak is going to play Friday then its going to be a short day for Novak.
Sinner is going to wear him down, because that's Darren Cahill's signature gameplan. Grind grind grind. And Sinner has the length to chase dropshots and do something with them.
Novak will have to have a god mode day to beat Sinner's current form.
Novak was looking gassed against Zverev who wasnt really making a 38 year old run. Sinner is absolutely going to make Novak run sideways and all over Paris. And Novak's defense at 38 is still one of the best in the game but it can only keep him in the match for so long.
im thinking about wolfie that episode from terminator after your post hahaTennis is just fine, its always been fine.

So if he played his gameplan for Zverev against someone who isn’t Zverev he’d lose? Quite insightful. No offense to Novak but if he played the level today against someone like sinner or alcaraz he'd get straight setted.
Zverev is #3 but he's shown time and time again at slams he's absolutely useless.
He did, his opponent however did not.I swear Djokovic could hit a winner on every single point and people would still cry about his age. He played well. Give him so credit.
btw we talked a bit about our tastes in another thread not so long ago, so would be interesting to know your opinion, i.e. which film you like more, first or secondWolfie's fine honey, Wolfie is just fine....
Yeah, as if Alcaraz isn't losing to the 38 years old time after time.

Djokovic loses - See, this is what happens when he faces real competition, he's been lucky
Djokovic wins - The tour is a mess, full of mugs and clowns, they cannot even beat this old man
terminator or terminator 2Terminator or another movie?
Primarily it says a lot about the 28 years old you mentioned. The world #3 at the prime age of 28 years old has been defeated by the 38 year old legend from Serbia in a non-competitive 4 setter. What does it say about the current state of the ATP tour?
To be honest I think the cakewalk of his early rounds obviously helped Novak conserve as much energy as possible once he got to the business end of the draw. The match with Zverev saw much lengthy and brutal hitting from both players and lasted over 3 hours. I do wonder how this will affect Novak going into his semi with Jannik.
AgreedPrimarily it says a lot about the 28 years old you mentioned.
terminator or terminator 2

You're a ****ing clownAgreed. It’s a tragic state. Made worse by the fact that if you went to the effort of attending tonight’s night session, this would be the only match you’d see!!! One match and a travesty at that.
