Tennis racquets and tennis gear in Hong Kong

Going to Hong Kong at the end of the month, can anyone tell me how much the racquets and tennis gear cost there? I live in Australia and the tennis stuff is relatively expensive here compared to the US. Also, can anyone give me links or addresses of tennis shops in HK?

HKD is closely pegged to the USD so if the Australian dollar is stronger you are likely to be a happy person! When I worked there I noticed prices were similar to slightly lower than the U.S. and absolutely zero tax.

Do they sell Nike Vapor V in Hong Kong? I want a pair, but they don't sell them here in Australia. If they do sell them, how much do they go for?

btw the racket+stringing shop i'd recommend is MRS

we only have small pro shops here and they probably don't have good web site. In China, there are lot of chain stores and they have better, more informative site where U can place order on-line.

FYI, MRS is cheap and carries lot of pop player models, Master Gear on the (HK) Island side don't have price tag on their rackets (which i don't like), WahSang has a rude shop owner, but if U speak English, he could be a nice guy (but he's a Chinese ). Near Tin Hau MTR (subway) station, (just facing A2 exit, Golden Court shopping area) there is a Classic, which doesn't offer the best price, but one of the best stringing job locally.

Well from when I was there the prices were pretty much RRP so it wasn't exactly cheap

Gosh I went to HK like 6 years ago. My friend wanted some suggestions on a racquet. I went to Sogo and Yuhan (I believe it's in Central?) Man was it expensive! I ended up sending him the racquet he wanted from here. Still saved him $50 with shipping.

Dont go to the department stores:
The aBLX90 Sell for 1.9kHKD @ Sogo and in SHopping centres
If you know what u're doing you can get one for 1.3k in Hong Kong
(u used t be able to get a brand new aK90 for 900 hkd -_-")

If you go to the sports stores in Mong Kok they sell new line racquets at ~HK$1200, strings included (depending on store)

There's one shop I always go to near there, it's opposite the Mong Kok MTR Station, just past Grand Century Place KCR station railway bridge - I bought my APDGT there for about ~HK$1200 including strings. (I don't have the exact address, sorry)
