Tennis socks

In Oregon everyone and their mom has elite socks. Most kids think it's a fashion statement but it's really god damned comfortable. When you can get them for 6 bucks a pair why not?

Who knew so many are employed in Nike's sweatshops in Eugene?

I think they are like 4 dollars a pair, are they any good, padding?

I have several and I like them. They have solid padding in the toe and heel. I also like the ventilated band across the middle. The TW crew sock from Fitsok is a little thin but it works great with another sock under it ( I pair it with the Fitsok CX3). The regular non-TW sock from Fitsok has a similar design but is a bit thicker and I don't need to double sock with those. Great socks for the prices!

Vitalsox are off-the-charts good... Light & comfortable. My feet do not move inside the shoe - and I'm actually starting to move on the court...

Looking for some good tennis socks, white and long... I was wearing these crappy white umbro socks that I got really cheap at sports direct, they were alright at first but last time I played my toes got quite sore, think because after a few uses/washes the material is all harsh and grainy.

So, was looking at the adidas adicrew 3 pairs for £10, I wear adidas apparel so preferably adidas, anyone tried these? What socks are good?

NIKE SWOOSH CREW WITH THE 76% COTTON ARE THE BEST U CAN GET

Thorlo Experia Mini Crew FTW!!

Perfect amount of padding at the perfect locations, without the bulk.

Been using the same 3 pairs, three times a week for almost 2 years and they are still holding up fine.

I get the Thorlo thick socks, not sure what model they are. They are good for about 6 months and then they start to thin out and I have to buy new pairs.

I love them, too, for the compression and the no-slip feel. They wear well and they last. Not cheap, but completely worth it.

I like the little orange logo, but i wish it were just black or blue.

why in tennis pros like Federer use 2 pairs of socks ???

Better fitting for a shoe (if sized a bit too large and the lower size is too small). Firmer and more cushioned fit too. Some companies actually produced doubled-layered pairs of socks, like how Nike produces doubled-layered Elite socks.

To the OP: Nike cotton socks ("Performance Cotton," not their Dri-Fit material) are pretty good. They last long, good price, and they're simple cotton crew socks that come in black or white :)

Also, much easier on the feet because this set up is less prone to creating blisters -- especially relevant to pros who spend an incredible amount of time of the court. The two sock approach also works in many other sports. Two pairs reduce friction, which is the substantive reason for it.

Hmmm, most pros wear one pair...explain that. :)

The Fitsok crews here at TW are excellent, too. I'd say comparable to the Vitalsox, but you get 2 pair for about the same money.

Another argument for two pairs!

I thought most pros who do not wear ankle braces wear double socks. I remember hewitt wearing three.

Anyway, i wear two pairs of vitalsox. Love it. No blisters. Great fit and feel. No slip. I sweat a lot, but my feet are pretty happy in this set-up, even in the summer.

Do you buy shoes 1/2 size larger?

I went to the Vitalsox website and ordered some vitalsox from their clearance section. They were $7 each. I ordered on February 2nd but they arrived on March 17th which sucks. I will try them today and see how they feel.

Anyone know where to get the Nadal Nike socks with the grey path on the heel?

It's PE socks and sometimes you might be able to find it at promotional event nike booth such as US open. Also you might be able to see at bay.
PSX175 is product number.

So I decided not to sell my 4.3 and use them in 'hardcore' mode but I get blisters with them. Tried Federer technique of 2 pairs of socks - it delayed the blistering but still it is there (I get it on my big toe, nowhere else). I have tried it with Nike socks (the ones they sell on their website).

Any suggestions?

Your shoes are too short, hence your toe rubbing on the end of the shoe.
Go up 1/2 size. It's not the socks.

I have tried Head socks from Costco for the first time in about 15 years.

Last time the socks felt like my feet were in a stuffy sauna room.

Since then, the Head socks have been greatly improved. They now have moisture-wicking material and ventilate quite well, while providing the ample cushion which they were originally known for.

One bonus is that now they come in black as well. I bought a half dozen of white and a half dozen of black. I will be wearing the black to match my black barricades.

Price: $12.99 for 6 pairs.

+1

These are comfortable, thick enough to prevent blisters, not so thick as to require bigger shoes, affordable, available in black or white and consistently in stock at Costco. Can't really ask for more!
