Tennis String Tension Measuring Error

Hey everyone,

I recently got a Tourna Stringmeter to check the string tensions on my rackets, but one issue came up. Checking most of my rackets, it seems to be in line with what I strung it at or slightly lower due to string tension loss, but when I tried it on two rackets strung with Gosen Sidewinder 17 (one recently strung at 52), the tension was almost like 10-15 pounds lighter. I assumed there was a chance it could've been simply strung wrong, but then I checked my other racket (same string at the same tension, with <5 hours play time), and it was giving me the same measurement of around 40 pounds.

I know these aren't going to give you the exact string tension every time and it is more to measure string tension loss, but I was wondering if it could possibly be the string being a soft poly/shaped/twisted? I highly doubt I went down 10+ pounds of tension after 1 hitting session!

Any ideas on what is possibly happening?
