*If you are here to look up an acronym don't be afraid to use the CTRL+F feature and type in what you're looking for!*
Hey guys, I'm a tennis noob and hate trying to figure out what everyone on the boards is going on about!

Here's the deal: You guys toss every Tennis related Acronym you guys have at me and I'll update it whenever I get a chance to! Of course we will have separate categories to be more organized! Once the categories start getting intensified I might start adding subcategories (EG; Strings=Polyester. Multi, Synth, Etc.)

Let the barrage begin! Please try to use the same simple format I am so I can just copy and paste it!
******PLEASE Tell me what it is please. I don't always know if these are strings, rackets, or other things.******

For gauges this is from the TW site:15g= 15 gauge.

String Gauges and Diameters in millimeters
15 = 1.41-1.49 mm
15L = 1.34-1.40 mm
16 = 1.26-1.33 mm
16L = 1.22-1.26 mm
17 = 1.20-1.24 mm
17L = 1.16-1.20 mm
18 = 1.10-1.16 mm
19 = 1.00-1.10 mm
*Keep in mind that according to the USRSA, ( I am just stating what the USRSA states on their site and the USRSA " Digest" ) , the string gauge is the gauge under tension, so as such it may be under one gauge not tensioned, and be a thinner gauge once tensioned.

How about a HEAD formula?

1) Choose your line of racquet: LM (Liquidmetal), FP (Flexpoint, sometimes seen as FXP), MG (Microgel), YT (Youtek), IG (Innegra)
2) Choose the racquet line: R (Radical), P (Prestige), E (Extreme), I (Instinct), S (Speed)
3) Choose your headsize: M (mid), MP (midplus), P (pro), OS (oversize), T (Team), S (the literal S model)

For instance, YT+P+M= Youtek Prestige Mid.

The "L" gets me these days. That was a carryover from even before the days of graphite. For those that don't know, it stands for "light" racket in the appropriate grip size.....which is still sort of appropriate these days for what are considered players rackets. A Light racket was one that weighed about 12 to 12.5 ounces......

I don't think people really want the super light (SL) and ultra light (UL) designations. I'm sure people don't want to use medium (M) and heavy (H) frames these days.
