Hello all, looking for recommendations for resorts that have good adult and children tennis options for the 2 weeks between Xmas and New Years. Thinking Florida,Texas,California, Arizona,Carolinas (though that might be too cold). Or any other warm locations. Airfare would also be a consideration for those weeks so hopefully locations where airfare is reasonable. Let me know your guys thoughts. Thanks!

What was your experience there? Went on my honeymoon there and was impressed with the facilities, and the pros were good, but I didn’t really get to spend that much time on the court (1. It was my honeymoon, 2. It is an all-inclusive resort and there always seemed to be a Red Stripe or a Rum and Coke in my hand, making it hard to hold my racquet, and 3. It was July, and nobody was keen on playing in 95 degrees and 95% humidity.)

In Palm Springs. I just got back and they had a fantastic facility with plenty of drills, lessons, and match play. They have hard courts, har-tru, and grass courts.

I would try Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in San Diego, good Adult and Junior programs. Also Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne Miami, fantastic adult programs, good junior programs at Crandon Park just down the street.

Arizona during December is always sweet weather, but also our busy time for tourists, so prices for resorts and services go up. Still and excellent option. Resorts with tennis would be:

- Phoenician (Might see Bethany Mattiksand playing there. She has been back in town and there this week)
- Wigwam (My side of town with lots of things to do, but not as trendy as Scottsdale)
- Copperwyn is said to be excellent, but I don't know the programs they offer. They host a local ITF tournament and I know a lot of good juniors play out of there.
- Hitlon El Conquistador or Omni down in Tucson both have solid tennis facilities too.

At the time for drills and semi private lessons it was 3-6 people but the prime season is getting into swing there now so I’m not sure how that would effect the ratio. They do have all kinds of drill and lesson packages (group, one on one, etc.) plus they will match you with other players for singles and or doubles according to your rating. It’s definitely worth checking out plus less than ten minutes away is Indian Wells which has plenty of match play, drills, lessons, etc.

Rancho Las Palmas in Palm Springs will satisfy your needs. The Tennis is managed by Cliff Drysdale.

Unfortunately nowhere - The travel costs didn't make sense. However, I am planning to go to Indian Wells/Desert Springs during the spring based on the recommendations here. I spoke to their tennis director and sounds like they have some pretty good options for adults and juniors, including coordinating matches with others at similar skill levels. Pricing there also seems reasonable. Travel costs will make sense also.

This facility is basically my home away from home. Jim, Dora, and the team are absolutely incredible. If you're there between November and April, make sure to do the Grand Slam Round Robin on Monday/Thursday morning where you play a mix of doubles matches on all 3 surfaces, and in these months the tennis show is definitely worth watching and bringing the whole family. Their tennis instruction and player matching services (including calling locals to make sure they fill your game) are absolutely top notch. The Spa at the JW is also a great facility, perfect for cooling down and relaxing.

I'd also give a thumbs up for the Desert Springs at the JW Marriott. The drills are always excellent, the round robin on all surfaces is fun especially if you've never played on grass.
Shea and Zack are fun instructors and Jim the director is very knowledgeable. There are lost of other facilities in the desert that have programs, Westin Mission Hills, La Quinta and
Shadow Mountain to name a few.
