making goat biryani tonight. I have my goat cooking in the slow cooker since noon. Trying out them costco brand basmati rice. Heard it's suppose to be higher quality than Royal. It costs $2 more. So we'll see.

HW, now I consider you a Tube Fixit Expert. My parent's Sony 60 inch LCD has dark spots and lines running vertically when it's on for the first 40 minutes. Then it gradually fixes itself. Any clues what I can do to fix? Or can I start shopping for a new monitor?

over heating on the x or y control board. get a big can of air and blow the dust off.

i didn't say i was making it sappy. restaurant bought.

anyone know how to fill in holes in drywall? about 2 inches in diameter. i don't think toothpaste can fill that much space.

I dont know about LCD's they probably have small circuit boards that make soldering replacement comonents on pretty tough.

Try Sappy's first. If not be like the monkey and serve hole through it.

Do they have Flourescent light near the TV. Sometimes when the Balasts go bad they kick out a ton of electrical interference that may be casuing the issue.

I have seen when I was working for comcast some poeple that were using store bought cables from the wall to the TV that were rated at 300 ohms get alot of signal issues. When we made a short cable with the Quad shiled Coax sometimes the issues went away. But my problem was very easy to troubleshoot. I didnt have the utmost confidence I would fix it though. My sodering skills are subpar. but somehow for the time being the TV works again.

I did however find this reagrding some sony LCD's. Is the TV a Bravia maybe its one of these recalled jobs. It could be cold solder joints from overheated internals causing the issue as well. Thats what was happening to my XBox for the longest time them i fixed it and then it died again 1.5 years later.


The Sony Corporation issued a worldwide recall of 1.6 million Bravia LCD televisions because of safety concerns as of October 12, 2011. The recall stems from issues with melting or burning components inside of the Sony LCD television sets; since 2008, there have been 11 reported incidences of smoke or small fires coming from the Bravia sets. Sony recommends that any user experiencing major picture quality issues or strange smells should turn off the LCD TV and contact Sony eSupport to schedule an evaluation.

thank goodness it's only 2 inches. If it was bigger, the jokes would of kept on coming.

try drywall compound. If it doesn't work, you'll need to bring out the mesh.

okay I'll go this weekend. it's kinda hard to go though. See... there's a chick fila that just opened like 5 minutes away from my house. Today's like my 2nd day going there for breakfast and lunch. And they just opened yesterday.
Okay I admit. i have a chick fila addiction. But then if you have a tennis clothing store named after, wouldn't you go too?

And I got zero tax return bc my accountant thinks he outsmarted the gov.

Owning a house is like two things:
A large hole where you throw money but it doesn't "save" it for you.
Sending your wife out shopping with a CC that has no limit.

Yep, but just the single, not the double. Wasn't too bad. Took HW on a tour of downtown Memphis, including Beale Street and the Mississippi River front, too. Did Fat Larry's barbecue takeout last night and taking in a ball game tonight, also in downtown Memphis,

Only thing we can't do is play tennis; my ankle flared up again Thursday night and I can't put very much pressure on it. Bummer. Might just have to give HW those Ys. :)

Hope he's having a good time.

as a fellow BBQ lover and soon to be "seasoned," player, pls layoff activities for awhile. if ur ankle doesn't heal right, ur tendons will either be healed back in a misaligned position or connect in a over stretched manner. in either situations u can get into really bad ankle injuries later and perhaps require surgery later.
doc says, for me, expect 4 to 6 weeks of immobilization and 1 to 3 of light walking/ elliptical exercise.
I am just lucky I don't need a hard brace on.

downs, i played with your buddy/my neighbor. it was a lot of fun and i did pretty well considering i have a messed up toe (why i continued to wear adidas' that were way to small.. and it caused this injury.. aaaargh) and haven't played in a month.

if only i could learn the kick serve.... he was very nice in trying to help me cuz his form is perfect. but no matter what i try, my 65mph curve ball comes off the racquet like a 90mph heater.. but at least i only double faulted 1 time in 2 sets.

p.s. - downs i thought you got bumped up? wut is this 4.0 stuff? did i miss something? from wut i hear u have no business being on a court with a bunch of hackers like me! (ok truthfully i try to play 3.5 if possible!) plz explain with charts, graphs, and diagrams.

next saturday... twmac meet. wakefield high school 2pm. everybody be there!

you hit with the aceholes captain? nice...he's a super nice guy...really crafty on the doubles court from the few times i've seen him play...definitely knows what he's doing...you still hitting with the candy cane frame?

as for the bump -- nope! i'm a computer rated 4.0! haha, a lot of people didn't get bumped this year...kind of strange, but oh well...still going to do 4.0 while i can...and 4.5 at the same time too...
