Tennis Warehouse Playtest - Babolat RPM Power 1.25

I wasnt part of the play test but bought a set to try out in a hybrid setup with Kevlar longs. Normally I use Tourbite in the crosses at 52 but replaced it with the Babolat Power. During stringing, it definitely had a strange brassy/metallic feel much different than the hard plastic feel of Tourbite.
However when I played with this string, I can certainly see where the Power name is from. For reference, I am an exD3 player and played another similar level 5.0 who hits flat and hard. Its not at all that the string provides power, in fact I found it quite low powered even compared to the low powered Tourbite. But, I had much better control on big cuts at the ball and this string really shines when the ball speed is quite high where I could hit the ball back hard w/o worrying that the ball would fly out. With tourbite in these situations I have to add spin to keep the ball in, but with this string I could go all out and not worry about the ball flying. Tourbite definitely has much more spin potential but to me lacked the control and precision that this string provided when the incoming ball is hard and fast. I dont think this string provided any spin benefit really, but the point of this string is to hit as hard as you can and it manages to keep the ball in. I am really liking this string and I can see why Thiem uses it...
A caveat however I would say is if its a more casual hit where the ball speed is not intense, I didnt find this string any better than tourbite and possibly worse. In fact, I would say at low rally intensity I would prefer tourbite which had more easy access to spin and control.
