Attention Talk Tennis Members:

Another month, another playtest. We have a limited amount of the Head Extreme 2024s that will be launching later this month available to playtest. This playtest is open to USA Talk Tennis members only.

VERY IMPORTANT: Playtesters will be required to get their test racquet strung. Each racquet will be shipped with two set of strings (Lynx Tour and Velocity MLT). We will have two grip sizes available - grip 2 and 3.

The application period is closed. Winners will be notified via email by Friday, July 5th by 5 pm PST.

We have a very limited quantity of racquets to playtest. We select playtesters based on a number of factors, including message board participation and performance on past playtests.

Your review is due by August 9th at 5 pm PST.

Posting a full review by the deadline is necessary to remain in good standing for future playtests. Reviews lacking sufficient effort will resort in disqualification from the playtest program.

Looking forward to this one (hopefully as a participant!). I’m a fan of Head rackets especially the Gravity, but currently main the Yonex VCore 100. I’ve been interested in trying the extreme for some time.

Súper curious to see how these play relative to the 1.0 auxetics - I’ve played with both the tour and mp extensively and definitely excited about this release.

Fingers crossed for this one! I demoed and liked the Extreme Tour (more than most of the other spin-focused sticks I tried tbh) before going the other direction to my current Gravity Pro, so would love to get a look at this to see how it matches up!

How exciting! I’ve played with every iteration of what used to be the Tour, including the NITE edition. It would love a chance to test out the new Pro model.

As a radical user (and who demoed the extremes) I’m really interested to see how the new models feel. The prior extremes felt a bit too stiff, which is why I chose the radical, but from the new reviews by tennisnerd and others, it seems the new grommet system has alleviated some of that.

I’m very curious to see how the new Pro plays, since I own an Extreme Tour 1.0 Auxetic. Hope I get selected and can compare both versions!

Head has been on a roll lately - great strings and the lineup of top players using their racquets is impressive !! I've even been using a pair of their shoes !

My buddy is having a lot of success with the previous version of Head Extreme, hence my interest in the Extreme. And I love the new and brighter 2024 color.

Oooooohhhh I would love to try this out! I have the last release of Head Extreme MP! I would definitely love to the a side by side comparison. Also the new color looks sooo much better and cuter! I think the old one was a weird green shade, but I liked that racket overall!! And the Auxetic 2.0 hmmm i wonder if the changes would be significant

I already applied. Hope I get the chance to test it. How will I get the confirmation and the dates of the deliveries for the test raquet?

You’ll get an email saying you were chosen! And they usually do this within 3-5 days. If you don’t get an email within that time frame, then you most probably didn’t make the playtest team

Real question, is Berrettini using some version of an Extreme painted to look like the new pj, or is he using some other head racquet painted to look like the new Extreme pj?

I haven't hit the Extreme line since the OG Graphene 360+ Extreme Tour. I liked that frame a lot, it was my runner up and a very close second out of a lot of frames I tried before committing and switching to my Yonex VCORE SV 98s. I'm very curious to see if they fixed the tinny feel and instability outside the sweet spot. Will be a future demo for me regardless for sure!

The 98 300/305 frame is very much my sweet spot. I'm currently rotating among Blade V9, PA 98 and Radical MP (300), all 16x19. All do slightly different things for me.

In the past, the Head Extreme Pro (ne Tour) has been a tempting possibility. I'm really optimistic about the tech in this racquet and the overall trend of racquet makers finding a way to increase stability without bumping up stiffness. Bit more power, same control, healthy arms.

I'd love to be considered for this playtest.

I was on the 2020 Extreme Tour play test exactly 4 years ago. So much has changed. Especially in my life. I’m curious how the Extreme Tour has changed with latest version.

Nice and bold looks on the new Extremes. I am planning to skip this playtest, since the specs are not to my usual likes. But I have some friends who love the old extreme, and am going to ask them to apply. For anyone who had not listened to the TW Sneekpeek video about these racquets please view it before applying, so that you know what are the specialities of the racquets. Michelle had done a good job in the podcast asking the right questions.

if I remember correct MP is 300g(unstrung)/100sqinch headsize, and Pro is 305g(unstrung)/97sqinch headsize. @TW Staff correct me if I am wrong.

The specs never opened for me so here for others in a similar situation. According t what I've heard the Tour badge is being replace with the Pro designation!

Will we be allowed to string with one of the supplied strings and then supplement out test report with something we are more familiar with, like multi/poly or even gut/poly?

You can use whatever string you want. You dont have to use the supplied strings at all.

I've been wanting to try the Extreme 98 305 for the last 4 years. I almost pulled the trigger on some Extreme rackets multiple times. The new ones look really nice. Hope I make it in the playtest.

Expecting a great quality product from Head, as always. It will be interesting to feel how that updates translate to how that play on court.

i have only tried the last head extreme (2022 mp). I can tell the real difference on spin, depht and power compared to my actual wilson blade v8 100L. I want to try the new Extreme and decide witch version to go with.

HEAD has always been a bit innovative. Remember the Head Adaptive line of racquets with the tuning kit. I loved that idea and wish all racquets were somewhat adaptive, with weighting or string density being easily customizable. I hope they've out some of that forward thinking into these racquets!

Congrats to those selected, excited to read your feedback! I'm especially curious about the balance of these frames. Jonas (tennis nerd) mentioned them on a recent video and posted specs indicating that the balance is even or near even on every version of the new Extremes.

I have a fairly new balance board. As soon as I get it I’ll take that measurement for you before stringing it and report back.
