Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Prince Tour 2026

That's interesting then, given the podcast I wouldve expected the tours to be more to the right since they talked about increasing stiffness/power but the tour is getting close to the o3 phantom which has been reviewed as a pretty low powered racquet.

I’m interested mostly in maintaining comfort with additional power. Hopefully the additional stiffness/power does not impact the arm friendliness with the ATS. Can’t wait to try this.

I main the Pure Strike v4 100s coming from the v3 98 16x, which I also loved but destroyed my arm. The new 98s are too demanding for me so I hope the new Tour 98 with lighter specs can replicate the old v3 without the arm issues.

Long time since I've applied for a Playtest (the last one was for the Prince Phantom 100x 290 - camo green).

As a long time Prince fan, I still have all of these in my collection:
- Prince Graphite III OS LB (Japan) - 107, 28"
- Prince Graphite 100 LB
- Prince O3 Tour MP (original orange and black)
- Prince O3 Tour OS - 107, 27.5" - an awesome stick that most people don't even know existed.
- Prince Tour Pro ESP
- Prince Phantom O3 (black/green)
- Prince Phantom 100x 290 (purple)
- Prince Phantom 100x 305 (purple)
- Prince Phantom 100x 290 (camo green)
- Prince Phantom 100x 18x20 (camo green)
- Prince Twistpower 100

And Pro Stocks:
- Maria Sharapova personal O3 White (TX182P-100 - 27.38) - 18x19
- Daniela Hantuchova personal Ozone 7 (TX182P-100 - 27.38) - 18x19
- Prince Exo3 Tour (TX255A-100 - 27) - 18x20

Out of these, the Phantom 100x 290s are always in the bag, and I've been really enjoying the O3 Tour OS again, especially for doubles. And the only one I was never able to gel with is the Twistpower.

So, yeah, I'm pretty excited to try a non-O3 Prince Tour for the first time, especially now that I've been focused on playing a more aggressive, attacking game.

Anyways, even if I'm not selected, I'll still be on the lookout for everyone's reviews.
Good luck, all!

Do you get to keep the racquets

If you get selected - YES - you get to keep the one racket you are sent. Make sure you post your honest, as required detailed review on time.

Otherwise "If you do not post a review or if your review is clearly lacking effort, you will be excluded from future play tests."

So bummed that I missed the application period for this playtest. I have the 93p18 and 2019 Textreme Tour 95 and really love how they play and feel. Have fun to those who got in. This will be a great one. Will look forward to the reviews.

Pouille such a clean ball striker - like anyone on the tour, but some pros just hit cleaner. I played with my current 98 Tour this morning - what a wand man. Even thought the hairpin beam was beefed up for power, it still slices through the air so fast and the touch from the string bed is next level. I am really curious about the 100P - is the string spacing the same as the 98?

They wont give you two racket playtests so quickly one after the other - they spread the love!

As much as I'm bummed by the FOMO for string and racquet reviews, I welcome the forced benching to focus on actually improving.

The update looks promising. There is always this certain hope that Prince makes it back to being a major player. The first gen Textreme Tours were promising but lost its steam since the second generation Tour versions.

Watching the reviews in the online videos on YouTube, the thing that surprised me the most was the review on the new Prince Tour 310 P.

I know its only about a 5% chance of being selected but still :-D

....Congratulations to the Chosen!

Thank you TW and Prince!

Selected for the Tour 98 and a 2 for 1 :) as my wife mains the ATS 290 and offered to provide her feedback as well. She’s been a Prince loyalist since the 80s

Priorities for us are comfort and added power with good pocketing. We’re older with slower longer strokes and appreciate a great feeling racquet. We’ll see how it compares to both the 2019 and ATS Tours.

I main the Pure Strike 100s as the PS98s are far too demanding. The specs on the Tour 98 are more reasonable and I’m hoping to compare with the PS98 16x as I do like 98s

Thank you again

@dr. godmode just put out an interesting review of the Tours. I won't spoil what he says, but it certainly gave me some insight as to how I'm going to string it. First stringjob for me will likely be with Tour M8 at 49/47 to help ameliorate some of the weaknesses. Natural gut could be a really strong compliment to this frame as well, but that's for someone else to check out as I don't want to spend $40 on a stringjob just yet. I also have some Eco Power and Alu Power (both regular and rough), and those could be great pairings as well (if they don't fall off a cliff within an hour).

Edit: Due to my low supply of M8 and the high likelihood of me wanting to try more than one string without having to cut out M8, I'll probably go for PR/Ghostwire first, then M8, then if time allows something else, but I rarely break M8 in less than 20 hours, so I'll go 8ish hours with PR/Ghostwire, then M8, and Eco Power/ALU Power will be saved for later.

Didn't get selected, but got a Demo of the Tour 98, which I'm intrigued to hit with.

I'm going to compare it to the Blade 98 demo, both of which came in underspec. The Tour is about 2-3 grams lighter than the spec listing, and the Blade was 5 grams lighter.

Both have around a 320/321 SW in stock form. The Twistweight on the Tour 98 is around 13.1 and the Blade is between 13.2 and 13.3.

Good luck to those who got selected!

Congratulations to those selected! Yep. As @JK208 mentioned, take a good look at the TennConn review that posted today on YouTube. @dr. godmode does a truly superb review and an pretty down to earth and honest assessment of the 100's. He goes into some of the marketing towards the end on the 100P in particular and puts out a big challenge to Tim at Prince to compete head-to-head with the other OEMs. I really appreciated the directness of this challenge and it's very interesting psychologically and he asks all the tough questions as to why they aren't competing directly with this new offering in the 100's in particular. So if you have time, do give this video a watch because it's very thought provoking. Maybe watch this one and the one that Michelle did with Tim from Prince and compare or contrast the strategy behind the new 100 Tours. My conclusion is that Prince is always on the cutting edge of racquet innovation; not afraid to try different specs; in this case it seems they're bridging right over the mainstream offerings; yeah it doesn't really make sense to me either; maybe that's what really makes Prince unique.

Luckily I was selected and have watched these videos. TennConn guy confused me when he mentioned that he wasn’t going to talk about the 310g as it’s out of his spec range! I’m a 66 year old semi-retired coach who competes with the 2019 Tour 310s (will be testing the new 310) since they were released. The 22s were too dampened as Tim acknowledged. Your above observations were spot on. TennConn challenges Prince to do what everyone else is doing?!? Like you noted - Prince uniqueness is not following the herd and it’s what many of us love about this iconic brand.

Got the notification that my 100 310 will be delivered tomorrow! Thinking of stringing it with pure rush r8zor vs Lynx tour x hawk touch. Will probably do the r8zor since I’ve been using it more and more

Lynx Tour and Hawk Touch is a great stringbed in older models of the 310. Haven't tried Pure Rush or Pure Rush R8zor though.

Meanwhile I just learned my backordered one is pushed back even farther to mid June now :(

I just got my Tour 98 in. Best looking frame I've ever seen in real life, and I've seen some fantastic sticks. Specs are close to spot on. 285 unstrung SW, 304.4g, 9pts HL. Glad it came in a bit low on the SW, as I can throw on some lead at 3 and 9 to improve stability and forgiveness if needed. Will get it strung up shortly but I am currently bedridden due to a pretty bad illness, so not entirely sure when I'll get back to full strength, but I'm defiantly looking forward to seeing what people think about it in the meantime.

I haven't seen any email notifications from ups like I usually do but I hope it comes soon lol the TW email mentioned two packages, is the second package the strings?

I think they meant 2 waves of shipments. The early recipients had it shipped out on the Friday, while the later recipients got it shipped out early this week. The only email I got was a day before arrival. If you haven't gotten that yet, I'd assume you were in the 2nd wave and will get it early next week.

Ah that makes a lot more sense lol would explain why I didn't get a ups email. Thanks!
