What we look for in a playtester:

1) A user that is in good standing - no excess warnings on Talk Tennis
2) A user that is participating on the forum- we look for a participant that is actively participating/posting on the forum on a weekly basis and has at least 100 posts (although we do make exceptions)
3) A user that is participating in threads on the racquet forum and bonus points if it is in threads that are related to the racquet being playtested
4) Participation in a string playtest- we offer monthly string playtests that are much easier to get into. If you show great effort there, it will standout for the next racquet/shoe playtest
5) if you have playtested a racquet/shoe in the past- we look for good effort in the comments, turning in your review on time and actively participating in the thread throughout the playtest

We do try to spread the wealth, if you have participated in either a racquet/shoe playtest within the year, chances are you won't be selected for a racquet/shoe playtest (we do make an exception to the rule if we see a user that stands out, doesn't happen often). Each playtest contains a mix of users that haven't participated in a playtest before, users that haven't been selected in over a year and users that show exceptional effort in recent string playtests.

Black Ace Pro is a crazy good modern racket for those liking classic feel. I've moved on from my use of L2 frames so good luck to everyone and thanks to TW for continuing these great playtests.

I'm hoping Pro Kennex does this with their new Q+ line, as I'm eager for their Q+5x Pro refresh!

Do any of those have 18 mains by chance?

Here is the chance for any of those who ever wanted to try a PK and never had the spare $ to try one.. here is your chance to win the lottery..

I had to look these up. This is a very good looking racquet.

I see they’re made of some Kinetic material. Does this mean they have the same sand that moves within them like the 5g and others?

If I didn't love the Prince Phantom Series, I would have definitely had these in my bag. I enjoyed playing with the Ki Q+5 pro, but I wanted something less stiff. I really like the thin beam specs of the Black Ace Pro and especially the swing weight of the 315. I'm familiar with the Kinetic system, but the FlexLogic has got me curious.

Hands down, the best paint jobs of any silo on the market for me. With proper GLOSS finishes. Other makers, take note. It's not rocket science.

Me, I'm biding my time for the upcoming Q+ refresh. Also WAY better paint jobs than the outgoing "1950's race car" motif.

The previous generation hit bigger and felt crisper than the RA would indicate. The specs made me think it would be like a Prince Phantom 100 BUT the output was closer to a Blade 98 and relatively open string pattern seemed to work well with it. I was way too distracted with other rackets at the time and let it go.
WARNING :this product causes high performance.

As per website :-D

The 300 is a very good racket once you get the string set up to your liking that works with is flex profile.
The TW review is very accurate.

The pro is definitely right up what I've used in the past, would be interesting to hit.

Recently had the chance to hit with an old Prokennex 93 and it was the plushest frame I've hit. Lots of fun hit hit around with

Looking at the info on the 300....it says 1-piece string job?!?! Expanding the pics on the website shows a tie-off grommet for the crosses, but not for mains. Surely the grommet configuration allows for hybrids.

......right?

Erroneous info.

As a 16 mains racket with 8 strings in the throat - 3 of the tie offs will be on the top and only 1 in the bottom of the hoop in a 2 piece string job

It has 4 tieoff holes in the top and 2 in the bottom as expected.

Damn. I just withdrew my request for the BAP since I realized its only Grip #2 after sending the email....

Best of luck to everyone else!

I'd like to try the Black Ace 300, since I've used the previous one.
The Black Ace Pro 97 would be an instant switch for me, cosmetics/style alone is more important than playability for me. That's me!
Unfortunately, Brussels n' Germany didn't trade Greece for Puerto Rico back in 2015, so I'm still not a USA-citizen...

I have 2 Black Ace's already - the Pro and the 315. Please put me down for either!! (Secretly hope it's the 315 as that has become my daily and I love it). I have been screaming about PK's racquets to whomever would listen for like 2 years now. I have 4 in total, but the Black Ace series has replaced Blade Pro and Prestige as my dailies... love them!

How is the 2nd Gen BAP different than the first? The first gen BAP was a real nice well-rounded player’s stick.

I’m curious about these. I’d really like to see one in the wild. I typically only see very old PK frames. I have messed around with the 5g but never committed to it. It’s very weird to shake a racquet and hear sand in it.

So I’ll ask again.

Do these have that sand in them? Do they make a sound like some other PK frames?

Yes. But it's something you notice for the first outing and then never think about again

Passing on this one as I'm working on my game with current racket. But would love to read all the TW forum reviews of the three different frames. Always have been a fan of PK rackets. Best of luck to all who have submitted for a chance to playtest.

I'm curious about it, and would like to apply, but I struggle to find hitting partners this time of year and none of the leagues around me start back up until January. I don't think I'd be able to get enough playtime to be of any real value on this one. So I'll just sit back and read y'all's reviews!

Good luck guys! Can't wait to hear your feedback. I am super excited about this racket, especially if it really is easy on the arm. It also looks really great, and the specs are perfect for my game. I'm still newer to the site, so I likely won't get selected, but really looking forward to reading everyone's reviews.

I'll be interested in comparing it to my BA 105. I remember the years I spent with the original Silver Ace fondly.

I used to play with a pair of Pro Kennex 5g's about 20 years ago. They helped me a lot; great player's frames and they solved my tennis elbow issue. Big Ups to Pro Kennex. I hope you all enjoy this playtest. I've heard a lot of great things about the Black Ace.

@Hesi and @shadow10 congrats. Shadow if I remember you've applied for a few, including one I got in on not too long ago (think it was the 305S) and you didn't get in, so happy to see you're in on this one! Gotta spread the stoke. Just amazing that TW continues to do these.

Yeah, exactly! Haha It kind of works out for the better this way to be honest, because never played with any PK rackets before (should be able to write up a good review and see what is different comparing to other brands).

Additionally, I currently have the previous model tfight 315, so I have an idea of how the new 305S would play since they're in the same family. Lower SW on it was a good change coming from the previous 305 iso which felt like a sledgehammer towards the end of the sessions lol. Could have been a bad QC on the one I demoed too.

Congrats on those that got choosen. I passed on this on, as I have never hit with a PK. I'd rather make comparisons with frames I have a baseline for. But I haven't ever heard anything particularly bad about any PK frame. Always a suggestion for folks looking at arm friendlyness and comfort for a healing injury. Looking forward to seeing the reviews on this next generation.

I’m in too - looking forward to this one as I used to use a very flexible racket but at some point I went to stiffer to get a feeling of more directional control. Since then my swing speed has increased so I might be able to go back to the plushness of a flexy racket and still achieve what I want and this should be a great way to see.

I received my PK Black Ace Pro (my first choice was the BA 315 but I am equally as stoked) - I also received Tourna Big Hitter Blue 16g. I will be using this string for the review, going almost max tension to quieten the stringed a little - power was not a problem for the last gen BA Pro. I also like 16g for the string spacing on this frame. The RA is so comfy, I will go with a multiple edged stiff poly in the future to really dial it in. Eventually I will be adding lead and a leather grip to make it my own.

We might have had our packages switched haha. My first choice was the Pro and I got a 315 (my second choice so it's okay).
