Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Tecnifibre TFight 305 ISO

Yeah I’m actually removing the weight in my handle on all my rackets I customized. Stock feels much better. Also I tried kirschbaum xplosive. 18 G. Definitely a nice string. Control and responsive.

Agree, on my ISO 305, I added a leather grip to help it to be head lighter, didn't like the feel I got deciding to go back to the original grip plus some weight and was a lot more pleasant and let the frame do its job, anyway was not enough for me to really gel with it and decided to post it on FS forum.

I picked up a ISO and had my first single hit this evening for about 2hrs. Absolutely loved it, just so solid, loved the heavy groundstroke, my most consistent serves in a while & deep returns. The plow on virtually all the shots is addictive. The one shot I couldn't make all night was the overhead, surprising given I had no issues with the serve. However, I think this is just my lack of ability and expect to dial this in over time as I get used to the balance. I had it strung with Cyclone Tour 18g @ 45lbs which seems too low and probably needs to be maybe 50lbs or higher. I will most likely be switching to this frame and it's not often I can say that after a 2 hour hit.

Yeah it’s actually not long before I got adjusted. So good in match play. I honestly found ice code to the best string for it bc of the control and power I got. But it was a little harsh on the arm. I should try 1.20 MM next time.

I currently have one strung with Tour Hex 1.23 at 52/50 & one with Hyper G 1.20 at 50/48. I really like them both, been hitting with the Hyper G more though.

It’s a ok racket . The balance is throwing me off . You need to be a high level player to use it . It gives nothing for free .

Hard to get good serves with it because it is heavy . Not saying that it is not possible . But you need to be strong to serve big with it

it’s a very good flat ball attacking racket . But more mistakes will come if you don’t have it right
The racket only does so much. Technique is needed regardless of racket you use. I find good access to spin with this frame. No racket is going to generate top spin or power for you.

Anyone else finding the launch angle to be a problem? I've been a Tfight 305 for a while and starting to feel off with misses hitting the tape. Wondering if i should demo a 16x19.

The string bed is erratic . I make tons of errors with this stick . Maybe my technical mechanics. Also does get enough spin . But good for a 1819

This has worked for my game a while now but lately i've been wondering whats going on. Was a 4.5 back in the day. Now i'm between 4.0 and 4.5 player. May need a little more help from the string bed. Or perhaps string lower than 53/54 lbs

It’s very demanding. You need to be a strong player like 5.0 plus . To use it accordingly . I don’t have the energy anymore to put power in my shots

I'm going to demo a TF40 315 and RS 315. both lower swing weights and 16x19. But i'm also going to string lower at 51LBs .

Unexpectedly disappointed by the Iso (the rs305 is my go_to racquet)
Seemed very heavy, sluggish and unpleasant.
For its defense it was poorly strung with an old poly (could not read anymore what it was)

I use the RS 305 and thorough enjoy it for the most part. It’s crisp. But I’m second guessing the string pattern to be honest.

I do think that the launch angle is a bit low, not as low as the TF40 18x20, but definitely lower than some tight 16x19s. I played a match this Sunday which I barely won with a lot of lucky net-cords going my way. After hitting with my opponent's 16x19 Radical pro, I was surprised with how much easier it was to hit a loopy ball. I think spin is not an issue, but the racket does punish me when I'm late or lazy and don't bend my knees enough.

I’m gonna string a little lower from 53 to 51 lbs.

I keep leaning towards the racquet with Hyper G 1.20 strung at 50/48

Played with it for a few months now with no customizations. Been pretty much just great. Balance definitely took a little adjustment (and re-adjustment if I hit with anything else, which I don't do very often now that I've found this).

All good news. Have won three tournaments with the thing, all 4.5-5.0 doubles, in lots of heat. Good at everything. It's probably not great for low-level players, though it is surprisingly forgiving. But the low static weight really does make the high swingweight not matter for me.

(As for the people saying anything against its spin, you're all tripping. This has loads of spin--you might just need to work on your swing. And this is coming from someone who usually plays with 7-8pts head-light.)

Is the head shape of this racquet different from TF40?

Not noticeably different, no. I've hit with both a decent bit.

Beam is just a bit thicker. String pattern is just about exactly between the 16x19 and 18x20. Major difference is the foam filling, which greatly increases the swingweight and evens the balance out. Also, the ISO has some stuff with the grommets that opens up the sweetspot (and spin, in my experience).

I didn't love the TF40s I tried (both patterns). Actually preferred the first gen a bit for feel. Just couldn't gel with the launch angle with either gen--kept clipping the net or missing the baseline. Just didn't get the dwell and lift I wanted.

Thanks. I do like the TF40 and I'm a bit intrigued by this racquet.

I agree all 3 (xtc rs and iso ) have good access to spin - Atleast better than what some say. I go back and forth between adding weight to the handles and removing it for even balanced.

what did you string it at? I’m trying 51 lbs with razor code 18G. I will say I strung one of my RS rackets with kirschbaum xplosive 1.20 mm and it was very nice.

Blue? What racket are you using?

I must say that I really like this racquet, which is strange as I usually hate racquets with a balance like that. However, in this stick I really like the balance and wouldn't change a thing, except for maybe 2 or 3 points more sw (the demo is at 342SW with Lynx Tour). This low static and high SW makes it so easy to whip around and maneauver, and still stable and plowy which is crazy. I think I have yet to see this combination in any racquet ever.

One thing, I strung this with LT at 19 kilos and so far, I really, I mean really, really dig the feel! Not stiff at all, not even crisp, rather dry, clean, clear, soft, just very nice. I am looking forward to feeling the next balls on the racquet for sure. Maybe it is the string set up, but this is crazy to me.

To me this is definitely a control stick rather than power. People who are complaining about balls going crazy, I would say it is because of SW-issues. If you are late, the racquet is gonna plow through the ball and it will hit the back fence. If you are not used to higher SW or heavier racquets, it takes a while to adapt.

Will give this demo last twirl tomorrow and decide if I am buying two of these, or stick with my other sticks... It just seems very tempting to play with a sub 330g stick, as I am old and dad.

I just got one and had it measured. Way underspec. 303g static weight and unstrung 290g swing weight unstrung. Hopefully the lower swing weight will not impede the attributes of this racket.
