Tennis Warehouse: Solinco Racquet Playtest

PD are goats and have many manufacturers aiming to meet or top... but so many fail..
I too was shocked when I 1st hit with the FX500..
I am like...a PD style racket that I can use and enjoy without issues..
I wasn't a fan of the SX 300... prefer the PA..
My only wish for the PD is that it would have a flex point in any area of it's length.. it's rigid the whole 27 inches..
The PD flexes.

Finally got around to getting Head Tour Lynx in orange. Looks more like Red/Orange to me but lets see how this plays on the BO300.

Looks good! What tenison (s) did you use?

Well about 2 hours in an these strings are done. I will say that my touch was awesome with this string. Did not feel as springy as Hyper G 17. Just didn't last as long as poly for me. Thanks @mad dog1 for the recommendation. For now Solinco Hyper G will be going back in but I did enjoy the test run.

Yeah. I do 1.30 LT in the Blackout although if you are breaking 1.25 in 2 hours, I’m not sure how much longer 1.30 would last.

Yeah, I hear you but I did enjoy the feel. Hyper g 17 breaks in about 3 days but I rotate sticks. But I do like the BO300. I have and xtd as well but the standard version is winning so far.

What makes you like the Standard WhiteOut more than the XTD version? I am thinking the XTD version will be the racquet of my dreams (nothing like realistic expectations). This is based solely on the fact I really like my Pure Strike 16x19, but know I would like it more if it were 27.5 with a weighted buttcap!!

Never tested it because one says it's a flexy pure drive, not my taste

I see that comment quite a bit, and then see the same 71RA as the PD and wonder what people are on about.

More comfortable, maybe; softer, potentially... but flexy?

Yes indeed...I also gravitate around 3-4 HL racquets with high SW so ...

Good racket, not good enough to get rid of my rs305
I'm the opposite. Just got rid of my rs305 (still have one left for sale) and replaced with both models of the Solinco. PAVS is also on my short list to try.

To be honest, I think the racket game has dramatically improved in the last few years. Most manufacturers have good frames, and the 300-305g, 98-100" sq. inch, 305-15 SW club is chock full of worthy frames.

It's really just a preference thing. Compared with 20 years ago where no one really had a " Pure Drive" equivalent, and everyone has only been improving upon that model.

Just had my first hit with the Blackout 300 today. Definitely in the lineage of a Pure Drive. Much more comfortable, less tinny. Not noticeably stiff in my opinion. Swings fast, found myself whipping more forehands than normal just because it swings much faster than my RS 305 or 93P.

I have the WhiteOut in my bag as well, looking to see if that fits my game better. But the blackout is definitely a nice frame. Easy power. I think anyone from a 3.0 to 5.0 could find a way to use this for their game.
