TennisRecord com Appreciation Thread

They have ads. I’m not sure how much they make from them though.

Someone said usta sued them. I doubt that - even usta wouldn’t be that blatant about wanting to attack the best website in adult rec tennis.

Maybe it's not done updating, but it seems like the scores and calcs are wacky. Some people showing self rates that are not self rated any longer.
Some scores are not calculating properly at all. Ex. One teammate's dynamic was 4.19 then going into the next match it shows dynamic as 4.06 instead of carrying forward the 4.19. Happened with multiple people.

One other thing, I went to look at UTR and I realize it is not possible to track your rating history.
With TR, I can see what it had me after my match in January or after a disappoint loss in March. On UTR, when I look at old matches, it only pops in my current rating for all the old matches.
Perhaps there is a setting or toggle or something behind a paywall on UTR.

The reason it's peculiar is that my Doubles UTR had been moving towards 6 while my singles was barely above 5 and now it looks like my Doubles UTR is down to 5.25? I don't know if they did a correction to keep my singles/doubles together or if they determined the peoples I played in Dubs were trashes.

My UTR changes every day with no new matches or matches falling off my history. Sometimes just a tenth or two, but at times a full half point. This makes it very hard to track and even if you pay and get more analytics, I'd think they be changing around every day.

A few weeks ago over consecutive days, my UTR went down 0.26, down 0.31, up 0.48, then down 0.25. I had no new results, none of my results fell off, and none of my immediate opponents had new results either.

Those are just rounding errors. My doubles UTR still changes by more than a full UTR point daily and I haven’t posted a new match in months.

I had a slump and despite it only being april, I've already had 5 losses this year. I had 6 losses the entirety of 2023 so I guess I'll have to redline it from here on out. Luckily I'm on a 4 match win streak now so I'll try to keep it going.

I think this is a huge drawback of UTR. But since UTR has a ceiling and a floor your rating will theoretically change every day based on the best player in the rating system being better or worse. All of these tennis rating systems are going to be jumbled because they all have a ceiling and a floor.
