When left in a bag ,how long do you think a string holds its tension, without any playing?Im a little concerned,bc I wanna string my new racket, which Ive never played with.I will be travelling and wont take my gear with me.Almost a month without my racket.Should I string it for only a week,or leave it and continue playing with my current one until I come back?

There are 2 ways for strings to lose tension. One is Static Tension Loss and will start once the string is tensioned, clamped, etc. It stops when the remaining tension can no longer stretch the string in a plastic manner. The other is Dynamic Tension Loss caused by hitting the ball. Ball impacts that are greater than the force needed to stretch the string permanently will create tension losses. However, the string may still be elastic because you cannot generate that force all the time. This subject is covered in TWU. Prestretching removes mainly Static Tension Loss.
