There are "poly" strings that seem to have too good tension tension retention numbers despite extreme thinness and it makes me think they're some sort of nylon/poly hybrid, like Luxilon Ace. I added in a few of these. Note that TW classifies Ashaway MonoGut as a poly and RSI classifies it as a nylon.

gut, poly, and aramids will be forthcoming -- as will lower reference tension results.

Hey :)

First time I have to thank you for posting TWU data.

I find the numbers quite interesting - maybe because the data supports my reason for using X-One 17 as my main preferred wet weather string in place of VS Natty gut 17.
Aslo quite surprised we don't find Luxilon Alu Power series strings in the top of the tension loss strings.......at least it should be there according to the belief among many in here (and at one stage that included myself) :)

TW and RSI classify Luxilon Alu Power strings as polyester. I haven't included the results for polys yet, although there are borderline strings like Monogut that really are more poly than nylon. I've heard Alu Power is similar.

I'll update this to include gut, polys, and aramids eventually. I mainly created it because someone wanted to know which nylon strings held tension well.

So the data is good sometimes and not good other times?

Tension retention is a static number, as oppose to crispness, which is NOT by any means a static number, which you can measure.

This is why i find the data on tension maintenance interesting, but your other data posts useless.

BTW way to go - I tried to give you a positive feedback, and all you did was slam the door in my face

TW and RSI classify Luxilon Alu Power strings as polyester.

It's interesting that a lot of people categorize ALU Power (and many of the Luxilon strings) as polyester when in fact they are nylon. In a sense they are "poly" strings but poly stands for co-polymer, not polyester

Off TW:
Luxilon Big Banger ALU Power 16L=
Composition: Co-polymer (nylon) + Fluocarbon resin + aluminum fibers
Excellent durability for its gauge (12% more tenacity)

This is definitely a problem when talking about poly strings. The database should be updated to have a separate co-polymer category and RSI should also differentiate.
