Yeah, it sounds interesting but we don’t seem to get any comments or feedback from the Aussie peeps on here.

Thanks for the heads up AJvr. My son (advanced Jr.) has been using the TenX Pro sticks for about a year now and loves them! I have had him try other brands of 98's but he says nothing comes close to the TenX set up with Solinco Tourbite 19g@44lb.

You get the racquet direct from them and shipped to US?

Yes shipped directly from TenX as they have no dealers in US yet. High quality well constructed racquet. Prior to using the TenX sticks my kid was using Wilson Burn and after two months the paint job on the burn was chipping off horribly. He has beat the hell out of the TenX sticks for over a year and yes there is wear on the paint but you can hardly tell, much better quality. Honestly we took a chance when ordering these racquets not knowing what to expect but you can tell as soon as you hold them that they are really well built. It would be great if TW had them in stock.

Yes, that is nice if the paint quality is good but I was also hoping for details on playability from someone who hits with these racquets ;) We have a few Aussies on here, so was hoping

Sorry I can't speak to that as I don't play. For what it's worth I have had my kid hit Yonex, Babolat and Wilson sticks with roughly the same specks and he won't budge, loves the feel of the Xcalibre.

There has been a couple of threads about tenx racquets which got deleted in the past as new users would come on and start the threads promoting the tenx brand. Obviously affiliated in some way with tenx. They seem ok on paper but have had qc issues with cracks in frames etc. For their prices there are other options with known companies.

Yes I,ve hit with the heaviest version of this frame and I probably should revisit and post back here later, but my last recollection of this frame was that it was OK without being a standout. It was extra long but still too light for me. I rather use the PK Q Plus tour 325 or a Volkl C10 or Angell TC97 330.
What I'll do is have another hit and report back.

Hey all, I know the owner pesonally, he’s a great guy. As for the sticks, I’ve hit with a few, well built, good quality frames. Too stiff for me as I prefer sub 60 RA, but if you enjoy anything above 60 they may be a good fit for you

Yeah i'd look at vcore 98 + or the cx200+ cheaper than tenx and better build.

Both the VCORE+ and CX200+ have a much higher swing weight (340) than the TenX frames, the TenX frames seem like a nice platform to customize to me. That's also the reason that I am interested, I like the CX200+ but it is a bit to heavy to swing for me.

I did get the following SW specs from TenX:

In what way are the Dunlop and Yonex better build?

Yeah or a custom Angell.. even they have now become a known name. I think people like established names. Too many stories of cracked frames may put people on tenx. There were pics too in the deleted threads. Yonex qc is the best in the business. Good to see smaller names pop up and compete though. They must deliver on all counts though

No promoting going on here, just wanted feedback from anyone else who is using them. Not sure where you would be able to get any legit info regarding QC issues such as "cracked frames" on such a new product in the market? I can tell you this I have seen my kid try and crack the frame on the court many times and the sticks are still solid LOL.

Interesting..price is high so a bigger leap then normal to try out especially it’s not a known brand

Stuck in the process of finding a replacement frame. Waiting to try the 93p. At the moment the most viable replacement looks like something from the Phantom line

Well @1990's Graphite is right. I was one of the guys who posted some pics of racquets that some of the guys I hit with had. The build quality was indeed suspicious. Cracks near bridge/throat. And for multiple users too. Users were college level, hard hitting players. I think at some point Tenx was looking into expanding to US via the college tennis route but all these issues did not seem to help them. Our local DII coach also gave very negative feedback to most other coaches when the team went for conference and then regionals.

Have personally used them. They are okay, like @Crocodile said, but nothing outstanding about them honestly.

@topspn they are all extended my friend. Not our cup of tea ;)

@Happypapy in case you did not know, Paul Bennet has been trying to peddle Tenx racquets since 2017. Not exactly a new brand. I am not sure if you saw but multiple threads in the past showed pictures from not one but multiple posters including myself. We had a conference meet and some guys had those for testing. A few kids from Cali were visiting as well and they had same racquets. Same cracks. Could be that they have solved those quality issues since then and perhaps build quality is now better. But yeah, I would not doubt past issues with the brand at all.

I know Paul as well, by the way. We exchange emails every now and then. He was well aware of the issue. But hey, I am happy for you if it is working out for your kid. Who knows, might gave been all resolved with newer batches and tinkering with layup etc. Anyway, best of luck to you.

Edit:
In fact I might be meeting up with one of the same college kid from Cali this weekend. He now uses Yonex but I can actually try to get pictures again. He had three of them at the time. Perhaps he still has those. And he also had pictures of his friends racquets as well.

Thank you @haqq777 for your feedback. Being from a small town it is difficult to get advice and feedback regarding training and equipment etc., I appreciate yours very much.

@haqq777 If you don't mind, do you have any suggestions of Racquets for a just turned 12 kid who is now hitting against 17 year old high school ballers. It seems that he is getting pushed around a bit and maybe needs a little more plow through from his setup? Gracias amigo!

Was looking at the Yonex Vcore 98?

Absolutely @Happypapy will be glad to make some suggestions. What has the kid been playing with so far? Trying to figure out specs he/she can handle. Our local college coach's son is a regionally ranked junior. Turned 13 in Jan this year. Uses a regular Blade CV 18x20 and blows everyone away. He is big for his age though. I have seen a few U12 kids use lighter versions of regular racquets as well because it is an easier transition from junior racquets.

I am not that knowledgeable about the Vcore 98 as I do not have a lot of experience with Yonex. I was reading the forum and I know @Power Player is very knowledgeable on Yonex and has extensive experience. Recently played with Vcore98 too if I am not mistaken. Perhaps he can chime and guide a bit on that front.

The 98 has a lot of pop and power. Its a little tricky to feel the ball at times but the galaxy paint job looks awesome and when i was 12 that made a big difference for me. Lol. I think it would be a great demo if you want easy power and already know how to generate spin.

He has been on the TenX Xcalibre 98 /303g/27.5 for a year and a half. Wilson Burn 100 prior. He can handle more weight now like 10.8oz to 11.0 oz unstrung. Hits Tourbite 19g@44lb (please no comments on how bad poly is for juniors) not partial to the extended length racket could go with either length. Just want to get him settled on a stick as he starts competing this year. He has been on adult length stick since age 8. Hits flat and top, full swing with power, Has been trained with the Agassi/Williams/Theim theory of hitting full out. Just started breaking strings 3 months ago, turned twelve April 6. Four feet 11 and 80 pounds. Thanks!

If the other suggestions don't work out ....

Wilson Ultra 100 or the 2019 Pure Aero. String with a 16G / 17G Poly Hybrid (Solinco Hyper-G Mains and slick Round Cross - Yonex PTP or Wilson Revolve)
Place BluTack inside the handle for additional impact vibration dampening and provide more Head Light Balance.

Ok just wanted to relay the results from demo. He hit with Wilson Blade 98, Yonex Vcore 98, Pure strike 98 and his current TenX XCalibre 98. All have roughly have similar specs just differences in swing weight. He had no knowledge of reviews or ratings on these rackets. Results, 1. Pure strike 98 2. TenX XCalibre 3. Wilson Blade 98 4. Yonex Vcore 98.

He first hit the Yonex Vcore did not like it at all and would not hit with it again. Then Wilson Blade, he liked it but thought it was head heavy and less maneuverable. Then Pure Strike 98 which he would not put down until I suggested that he hit the Wilson again and the TenX just to make sure of the feel. All were strung around 53lbs. He loves the Pure Strike!

Does anyone know this racket? It has great reviews but other than that will be be around for the next 5-10 years? Can anyone tell us if they have used the Pure Strike 98?

Thx,

I used the 285 and the 305 for a while. A friend was consulting for the company and I was excited to try them out. I didn’t have any quality issues or cracks. I thought they felt very old school and flexible. I liked it at first. in fact, I thought control on the serve was great. I ended up moving on to another frame with a little more spin and maneuverability. Not a terrible racquet. Probably plays similar to a prince phantom imo

Pure Strike (I assume you mean the 2017 model) is a great racquet.

IMO, it is very string sensitive ... so you need to tinker with the string config and tensions to get the most out of it.

If he feels he is getting enough spin and depth then it could be a good one for him.

Just keep an eye on his arm because many report it is a little stiff.

Again, as per the Pure Aero or Pure Drive ... consider stuffing Blu-Tack in the handle to make the racquet a little more head light and also to absorb a bit of the impact vibration shock which will protect the arm a bit more.

Babolat has announced the 2020 Pure Strike model. So it is going to be around for at least another three or four years... and probably longer than that.

Babolat needs to have at least three product lines .... Aero, Drive and Strike (along with VS variants) certainly fit that bill.

Yes PureStrike 2017 @ 305. Thanks very much for all of the input. I found a great thread on string setups for this racket. Looks like most prefer to string low which we already do @44lb.

I had the chance to get one of the XCalibres from tennisnerd (303g Version). I really liked it and ordered 2 more and now using them as my racket of choice. To me it feels somehow like an userfriendly prestige (personal and subjective opinion), despite not feeling exactly like a prestige. Power, control, spin, feel and spec is almost right where i want it to be. I used a Clash 100 before that i really liked to, was just missing control (also tried Clash 100 Tour and 98) and did not like the beam width either.
So far i have no cracks or any other issues, but i am only using Tenx rackets now for two months...only thing i would complain is the quality of the base grips...when removing overgrips almost all of the base grip has gone too on all of my rackets.

Fathe and son, Paul and Andrew Bennett.
I must have been working with Paul. Paul is already an older guy and I thought Andrew was the primary owner? Paul was pretty rude and kinda pushy on the phone. Really not a fan of the way he speaks. Something very passively abrasive and really rubbed me the wrong way. Hope I don't have to work with him to order more things in the future.

Hey guys, finally finished this video where I give a very thorough first impression review of the tenx racket. My experience was NOT good but it's helpful to understand why. Would love for you guys to see for yourself what my initial impression was. Please let me know.
