TF 320/335 mold history?

What is the history of this mold? Who's mold is it originally and what rackets are made of this mold? All i know the mold is called PT205. Just curious.

Well all I know is that it's got a very similar mold to the Dunlop M-fils? Well, at least one of the series of Dunlop... :)

I believe it's from the original Major (parent company of Tecnifibre) Bullit Elite frame.

Thanks Kevin T

So it's not originally a Dunlop mold, right? Are the old 325 and 320/335 are made of the same mold? Also, is the Major Bullit Elite the first racket from that mold and how old is it anyway? I tried to search but found pretty much nothing about the racket or the PT205 mold.

Technifibre 325/335 & MAJOR racquets

Here are some pictures of MAJOR/Technifibre T35 mold..
They are made in Taiwan.

For me, TFight 335 18x20 is the best one within the current Technifibre line up.. I have not played with the VO2 one yet.. It hit & feel similar to PRO Tour 630 even it's a little bit smaller shape 97 square inch..

Here is the overlay of an TFight 335 18x20 & Major MID

Here is the overlay of an TFight 325 18x20 and PRO TOUR 630.. It's almost identical mold or it is identical mold.. I am planning to CAP this racquet to make it's more stapple and alittle bit heavier.. All of these new racquets have emptied/hollow/plastic feeling when you hit the ball.. and yeah it hurt the arm abit compare to the older racquets..

Interesting photographs, nice of you to post them..

How would you compare the TFight 335 18x20 & Major MID with regards to playability, feel, weight etc?

I enjoyed the Major T35 the most. I grew up playing midsize or smaller head heavy racquets so Major T35 is stable and heavy enough for my strokes.. TFight 335 18x20 is a good racquet but alittle light for me and I feel the hollow/plastic thing when I hit the ball..

WOW! Does the TF335 18x20 really feel similar to PT630? That is great!

Thanks Kevin T

I bought a Major Bullit Elite D ti from Thailand in 2000 and it was a current model. I believe that particular mold was at least 2-3 years old, though. It was basically the same headsize/frame shape as the Head Pro Tour 280/630 but .25" longer and with a 16x19 pattern and played a little stiffer. Many members of the TW board where buying them from this guy at that time. I believe he stopped doing mail order in 01 or 02. It's a shame because you could get those Majors for $80 shipped and strung with your choice of Tecnifibre strings from Thailand!! I bought a Major Xone from him when they first came out for $110 shipped! Wish he was still around (and the US dollar was still as strong).

So are they still available for sale in Taiwan jetlee2k? Is there a reliable source from which to buy them? [my email address is stjam@hotmail.com if you would like to email me the info..]

That guy stopped selling online in 01-02. I think it had something to do with licensing, etc., and he moved on to another business. I believe it was called Planet Sport but if you Google that these days, a host of other businesses pop up. He also carried Unsquashable squash frames and Talbot/Torro table tennis. He was a very friendly guy and like I mentioned, would get the racquet from Thailand to your door in ~ 1 week. A lot of TW guys were buying the frames but I believe M. Chaho/ProTour630 is the only other guy still around that may have purchased from him.

Edit:

Did a search for the Major Bullit Elite and found some old TW threads. The guys name was Hajo Von Keller and if you Google him, you'll find that he owns/operates a small resort/spa in Phuket, Thailand. He's on Facebook and linkedin, so maybe try and contact him? It's possible he has some stock lying around.
