Yeah for 19 year olds you can’t realistically ask for more. They aren’t going to be GOAT candidates but it was so much more enjoyable than the normal service Medvedev/De Minaur/Rublev/Fritz snoozefest… glad to get some new faces and flair in the second week.

And you didn’t even mention Moise Kouame, who was probably the most impressive young player I saw all week in all honesty. He has got it

Musetti but no Cobolli???
Ivanov, but no Kouame???

Also Shelton is younger than many on the list, and Prizmic is also bound for a quick rise on the rankings.

OMG yes absolutely!
Those 00s born youngsters genuinely shined BIG time throughout this tournament and showcased immense potential!
They should be truly proud of what they've achieved and how far they've already come especially considering their ages!

Plus, a bonus shoutout to Kouame who was nothing short of remarkable for a 17 year old!!

The thank you Mensik thread on Sunday going to have us emotional

It's fun watching the 2nd-generation 2K-borns jockeying for position.
Fonseca has to be careful that he doesn't end up as the Third Wheel instead of the Third Man. He's had two high-profile matches on clay against the other budding superstars in his little age cohort, Jodar and Mensik, and he was manhandled by both of them. It's too early to make any judgment -- let's see what happens after multiple encounters among these contenders on all surfaces -- but these first outcomes must worry him at least a little. Sure, he beat Djokovic, but the Djoker is on his way out. And broken-down Jack Draper beat Djokovic at Indian Wells in similarly dramatic circumstances, and no one is talking about Draper as the next anything.

Fonseca does not want to be the guy behind the guy behind the guy.

No love for Kouame? He's even younger than Ivanov, and he's already made a slam R3 and done respectably well in it.

Jack Draper is the next person to dress as poorly as Jack Draper often does, wearing a plastic bag so that you can pick him up by the handles around each shoulder. Moreover each plastic bag could fit about five Jack Drapers inside them.

Someone is talking about Jack Draper as the next something.

Shelton is so much better than many people on this sub realize. I’ve watched many of his matches in New York and he’s above De Minaur who I’ve also seen many times. He also looked way better in US Open 25 than in previous seasons.
