Thank you Sinner for making Tennis entertaining again

Don't get me wrong Djokovic is a great great player and has contributed immensely to Tennis but him winning everything in the sight had taken off the suspense factor from the game. Sinner played an agressive brand of tennis and didn't hesitate from getting his first big win in slam. Now, with certain element of unpredictability Tennis has become the sport it was before the big 3 came. Thank you Sinner, take a bow, son!

I never seen Sinner hit a tweener. Just many failed droppers. That's not entertaining.
The spanish 6 foot flash and the man with hundreds of NBA caps are entertaining.

It’s a good mix now that Sinner, Raz, Djokovic, Med, maybe Zverev have all chances of winning slams, so it’s not too predicable while at the same time those guys go consistently deep, meaning you don’t have no names making slam final appearances like at the WTA or even some time in the ATP past (such as Rainer Schüttler)

And that he defeated the world number 1 with only 56% of first serves.
The Italian player has a lot of room for improvement in that aspect and has everything to dominate on the hard court in this decade.

Amazing play from Jannik. Job not done yet though. He needs to beat Med and put an end to his horrific pushing and vulturing.

Pushing?yes! Vulturing?I think no. I don't like Med's ugly game and his ugly personality but he is mentally tough and tenacious and has earned whatever he has won in his career, let's give him credit where it's due.

I meant the slams. His first slam win IMO was a vulture job. Novak was completely out of that one. Med had a cake draw and virtual walkover in the final.
I hope Sinner does not fold mentally because this is his moment. This is his biggest opportunity to break through. And he needs to take this.
 
The biggest strength that I think Sinner and to a good extent Alcaraz have is neutralizing a rally where they are far behind by pure blissful ball striking and athleticism.

Good ol’days when Novak and Rafa were young seem to be coming back
 
Just finished watching the match in it's entirety.
Sinner was solid and aggressive throughout. But that fourth set though... Amazing!
I can't remember the last time I saw Djokovic losing a mental battle like that.

Is it tho? Personally I feel the final line-up this year is kind of a dud. I think any other combination of players would have got me more hyped. It's a shame Zverev couldn't hold off Med, I think Sinner vs Zverev would have been a much better final.

I’ll still root for Djokovic for as long as he plays, but at the same time I’ve been waiting for a new group to take over. Looks like it’s finally happening with Alcaraz and Sinner (maybe Rune?)

I think his personality is fine. He is quirky and funny and does great interviews. Can’t except everyone to be calm and serene like the Buddha. We need some racket bashers, enigmatic tools in the top tier as well. It’s not like he killed anybody or pushed aside kids asking for an autograph.
 
Agree with OP. Tennis is exciting again for the first time in a while.

Sinner has been amazing. Haven’t seen a player dominate an AO and barely lose a set like this since Federer in the mid 2000s.

The good thing is we have a worthy final opponent in Medvedev.

As good as Sinner has been, he will have his hands full against GOATvedev in the final.

Will be happy with either player winning the final. Should be a lot of fun.
