IME Solinco has provided us with a unique and valuable capability across their poly string offerings. With Hyper-G, Tour Bite Soft, and Tour Bite, you can effectively optimize your optimal power level to your racquet and shot mechanics. The progression is close to seamless as well for each model by gauge, so that all one needs to do is move from Hyper G 18g to 17g to 16lg, etc., then TB Soft, then standard TB.

What makes this work is that each model has a similar construction and spin capability. Head’s poly strings between Hawk, Hawk Touch, and Lynx have a somewhat similar power linearity, but Lynx is round and slippery, and the feel and power isn’t particularly consistent between Hawk and Touch.

With the Pure Aero Tour, this proved very effective. For me, each Hyper-G was too high powered. TB Soft at 17 is close to perfect.

Have you tried Revolution and Outlast? Much better in feel department IMHO

Outlast no. Revolution does have more feel / feedback for sure. I thought that it was a close to ALU Power clone. In an APD 2013 it wasn't elbow friendly enough for me though.

Outlast is a very solid poly. Does everything right but doesn't have the Tourbite grip. Revolution I always string less than 50lbs now

Gosh I'm so excited to try my solinco strings... I watched my alma mater play over the weekend (currently #72 in the nation) and the whole team is on solinco so of course I had to get some

What tension do you use in the APD 2013?

I use Dunlop 500 series, flex 69 like Aero's and APD's. I also have F5T's, flex like Pure Drives.
STBite 16 at 35 lbs gives good control, can hit fast serves with control, and has decent spin.
