Flashes of 2017-18 levels of agression again from the German. Combine that attitude with his consistency of today's, he can be the dominant force.
This has been clear since he broke into the top 10. I don’t understand why he hasn’t been playing this way all along.Flashes of 2017-18 levels of agression again from the German. Combine that attitude with his consistency of today's, he can be the dominant force.
Mind is a tricky thing, gentleman. This has been clear since he broke into the top 10. I don’t understand why he hasn’t been playing this way all along.
Well, the mentality is a huge part of success, and peak Wawrinka was insanely clutch at times. He also had a much better forehand, better backhand, and 2nd serve.Mind is a tricky thing, gentleman.
Zverev can literally be Wawrinka 2.0 (that too, with much more consistency, better serve, better reach, better return, better shot tolerance, better defense) if he stays agressive.
Zverev has capabilities to match or even surpass the brute ballstriking power of stan in every department, but yes mind is a big part.Well, the mentality is a huge part of success, and peak Wawrinka was insanely clutch at times. He also had a much better forehand, better backhand, and 2nd serve.
Totally agree. He’s a freak - has servebot height but moves and hits like he’s 6’2-3.Mind is a tricky thing, gentleman.

I actually rate his ceiling much higher than that of Daniil & Stefanos and basically every youngster other than maybe Sinner.Totally agree. He’s a freak - has servebot height but moves and hits like he’s 6’2-3.
I think he will show us all he is soon. Either at the us open or in 2022. I feel a slam win isn’t far away. It’s just his mentality that’s an issue but today he was mentally tough. He is not capable of doing it in bo5.
So can Shapovalov, but it just doesn't happen like that. They have to be able to sustain it in the Slamsh throughout the season. Wawrinka did that.Zverev has capabilities to match or even surpass the brute ballstriking power of stan in every department, but yes mind is a big part.
Zverev if not double faulting has a far superior serve than Stan thoughSo can Shapovalov, but it just doesn't happen like that. They have to be able to sustain it in the Slamsh throughout the season. Wawrinka did that.
Also, Zverev forehand will likely never match Wawrinka's, even if he can go big with it sometimes, it is a much less dangerous shot.
The advantage for Zverev is that he can go big, but he can also defend, he serves great and returns very well.
Let’s see him win Olympics first. Khachanov can beat him there.Zverev will probably win the US Open now.
You heard it here first

The problem with Zverev is he has not be able to figure out how to do this for BO5 over seven matches.
Totally agree. He’s a freak - has servebot height but moves and hits like he’s 6’2-3.
Thanks for correcting me, девојко.That's what aggressive Zverev is capable of doing...in BO3

But mury didn't win it in 2016, gentleman.I'm probably not the first to mention this, but Murray won gold then has first slam at the USO in 2012. Perhaps history is repeating itself
