I never felt Djokovic was going to win the match really, in that 5th set I could see Nadal raising his game. I knew he'd get the break back.

You knew he'd get the break back? I almost turned my stream off after seeing Rafa get broken in the first game of the fifth set... :???:

Momentum also plays a big role in these matches, and I thought Djokovic would have carried it all the way, but Nadal definitely proved me wrong.

It really didn't feel like Nadal hit 22 winners that set while watching it.

Nadal just had this fire in his eyes. One break wouldn't be enough against him. It felt like it was just a matter of time before he levelled IMO. Who goes an entire set against Nadal without dropping serve on clay? lol.

Gulbis was very close this year. Nadal had some real battles in the early part of the season. Especially with Gulbis(IW and Rome) and Ferrrer. (Madrid and Rome)

Yeah Nadal's form was on and off this year on clay. But that match was a different beast.

Murray-Djokovic Wimbledon match was also good. Murray was just too good for Djokovic though. If Andy could do that to Novak with a bad back, I wonder what he's gonna do to the Serb on grass when he comes back healthy.

i can't remember a single point lol except this awesome overhead from Djokovic in the last game

I hope Murray comes back fully fit and I have a feeling that Federer's level will also be better than 2013. Next year should be full of great tennis.

That is the worst and the most disgusting match of the year (actually since 1993). The better player lost because of Pascal Maria and biased officials.

The best matches of the year were:
1 W SF - Djokovic - Del Potro
2. AO 4th round Djokovic - Wawrinka
3. AO final
4. MC final
5. WTF final

No, Nadal won. I don't remember Maria being biased though. Can you link to the match where this happens please.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I just want to see it.

quality wise , IMO, in no order : fed-tsonga AO , delpo-djokovic wimby , djok-wawrinka AO, gasquet-wawrinka FO , nadal-djokovic FO - would be top 5.

going with the djok-wawinka AO match just for the contrast .. quality-wise better than the RG SF, though obviously one could argue that the stakes were higher in the RG SF and the pressure higher ...

Can't see the poll options on my phone, what about Montreal Nadal v Djokovic?

Better match than the USO match between the two, and on average per set more consistent than RG

Montreal was a great match. Nobody can deny Nadal took it to Djokovic there, and Novak was playing well. That's probably why it doesn't get mentioned much around here

For the record, the ATP top matches countdown has Novak-Wawa at no. 3 for slams. Montreal is no. 1 for non-slams and I agree this was the greatest match of the year. The RG SF will presumably be 1 or 2.

I think this year fo semi was epic. The djoko~wawa was great but djoko~ rafa match had more pressure and stakes were
high

Despite Djokovic not winning, I really think the Nadal-Djokovic RG Semi was the best match of the year. I remember sleeping at around 7 PM PST so that I could wake up at 4 AM PST to catch the match live. I had to leave for school as the 5th set began, and I really felt my heart racing when Djokovic went up that break. I thought he could finally win RG but alas it was not to be this year. Rafa played great and this contest was very closely contested. Bravo to both players.

There are 6 hours left before the poll ends, and just 3 votes separating these matches. Last chance to make sure your choice comes out on top :)

In other words, please vote for Nadal-Djokovic SF

And let's ignore the fact that NadalAgassi and 6-1 6-3 6-0 voted 10 times for RG SF :lol:
