What say you? This means most enjoyable for you, as far as quality of matches, atmosphere, etc. What Masters stood above all this year and why?

Indian Wells, with Del Potro defeating both Murray and Djokovic back-to-back and just falling short to Nadal in the final. I also remember being particularly stunned that Nadal won the tournament since it was his first hardcourt event in well over a year, and the entire tennis world was openly dubious about whether he'll ever perform well on the surface again, let alone win a few titles.

Great event, overall. Indian Wells is perhaps the only Masters tournament that feels remotely similar to that of a Grand Slam. This years' tournament had 49 of the top 50 players competing, an electric crowd, good venuing, and high prize money. Also, it's the first Masters 1000 event of the year, so there is always that.

It's a shame Miami was the predecessor to this wonderful event. Anyone here remember the tedious Murray/Ferrer final? Or the fact that both Nadal and Federer withdrew? Yuck.

I go with IW too. Miami was so disappointing... especially the chokefest that was a final. The clay season was pretty much run of the mill, though Nadal REALLY got tested which was interesting to see. Montreal was pretty impressive too though seeing Nadal stand in SO CLOSE and play THAT well after getting knocked out of Wimbledon. No one saw that coming.

MC, Shanghai and Paris. First since Novak obliterated Nadal on his favorite turf and the last two because they were part of Novak's end of the year Phoenix run.

Out of those three I give advantage to MC.

lol...nothing has changed. It's all about Nole vs. Nadal isn't it? :D

Indian wells and Montreal.
Indian wells because of delpo's scalping and Nadal proving a lot of people wrong as per the usual. Montreal because of pospisil's run, and the general unpredictability of the early rounds.

I voted Indian Wells as it seemed like the first time in ages that the top 4 were all playing in the same tournament plus for some reason it always seems to have the feel of a grandslam to me not sure why.

Toss up between Indian Wells and Montreal.

Indian Wells had Del Potro stunningly defeating Murray and Djokovic back to back and almost beating Nadal, and Nadal playing and WINNING his first hard court event in a year, having epic matches with Gulbis and Delpo as well as sweeping through Fed.

Montreal had an amazing Nadal-Djokovic battle resulting in Nadal getting his first hardcourt win vs Djokovic in years, as well as the two Canadians epic runs culminating in Canada's favorite semi final of all time.

Between IW and Shanghai for me.
Voted for IW since it had some good matches.
Rafa Vs Fed, Rafa vs JMDP, Murray Vs JMDP, Novak vs JMDP.
Rafa's fairytale win. (Though I wanted JMDP to win)

Michael Nadal, No dull masters thread?

Michael Nadal, No worst masters poll?

Rafa/Gulbis was great! You left that out. I'll add that now, it's a good idea.

Ohh...Completely forgot it. Perhaps due to their Rome duel which was better imo. ;)

Both matches were great. The pressers after Rome with Gulbis and Nadal were classic  The subtitle for Gulbis's presser should have been "you mad bro?" haha. Nadal was VERY frank in his.
