If your choice isn't in the poll, please choose other and put their name in a post. It will count as a poll vote for that person. Thanks :)

In terms of ranking jump, I chose Coric. Went from outside the top 300 to inside the top 100, and certainly looking to build on that.

For me Warinka just nips Nishikori-he beat the two best players in the world to win a slam & went from being a hugely improved player in 2013 to being a world beater in 2014 & showed his continued improvement on grass at Wimbledon making it to the quarters & prior to that the semis at Queens.

Nishikori if he had won that US Open final might have taken it as he was perhaps the more consistent player throughout the season-maybe next year.

Federer, or Nishikori; both improved dramatically since last year. But since Federer isn't listed, i'll pick Nishikori.

Interesting choice actually. All ohave pushed their ranking up aren't necessarily viable contenders after you consider context.

Goffin has definitely improved, and kudos to him. This was an improvement in consistency rather than form though. He's always had the skill, just struggled in stringing together the results. I'm not sure mental alone is enough to grant him this incredibly prestigious award.
Kyrgios got a freak win on an appropriate surface. This allowed him to start capitalising on his potential. I don't consider this an improvement, impressive as it is.
Nishikori's 'improved' by not getting injured (as much).
Coric has definitely improved. But he's a young player who's coming up and arguably the rankings are just starting to reflect his true abilities. I didn't say Carreno Busta was most improved last year and I don't think Coric is this year.
Cilic has improved as of USO. I want to wait a bit more before passing judgement.
Bautista-Agut, yeah. Not much to say here. Honed his game, started getting good results.
Wawrinka's always had the ability to hit big. He's just started getting them in. I don't think there's much of an improvement here compared to last year, aside from consistency. Good showing at WTF though.

So Bautista Agut kinda wins by default. No-one else has improved sufficiently.

Write-in for Djokovic. RIP Chico

Well, well...
The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Anyway not sure why were there need to talk abour Djokovic here.
Novak was the best player in the world last year so there was not much room fpr improvement at all and he is not a good candidaye in this category.

My vote goes to Kei.

Welcome back Chico!

I like Goffin, remember him challenging Fed at Wimby (last year?). But Kei has certainly moved to an another level.

Disagree. Kei deserved all the votes he got.

I think Russel has a point though, Nishikori has been uber-talented for a long time. I remember him taking a set off of Nadal at Queens in 08, the first time I watched him play. Are we really THAT surprised? I think Fed deserves it more than he does tbh.

Interesting...I guess that is true. Of course Nishikori was talented, but I still think him reaching a Masters Final and Grand Slam Final should be seen as a major improvement. Federer of course when compared to last year performed better (especially in Masters), and while he did reach the Wimbledon Finals, I don't think it's enough to top Nishikori, who never even reached the semi-finals of a Grand Slam. If Federer had come back from his bad 2013 season by winning Wimbledon this season, then I might pick him.
