The 2024-2025 NBA Season

Nah Borrego got in his head and convinced him that he’s an elite shooter and ever since it’s just launching 3s. Hornets fans really got tired of him by the end, because he only plays hero ball. He had a Mickey Mouse hot streak last January which made Miami trade for him but that may have been the worst thing for him, he needs to be a defensive guy who can drive and create his own shot occasionally. Now he plays like Dame

I wish he was better than he is. So talented
I haven't even noticed anything that would get my defensive hopes up. Rebounding is impressive but I haven't even been paying attention to if he could be a good defender. Did he show potential in CHA? Only thing I can recall noticing on D is that he seems to get lost on reads but even that was just from watching him get spun around this week vs ORL and going "Huh he kind of does that a lot"

Jimmy Butler is the biggest playoff riser in the last 20 years mixed with the most dangerous offensive player of all time, but I’m Kralingening to think that combo is gonna be good? @NonP educate these fools on how good Butler is
Yeah when Butler was saying Celtics woulda been home had he been playing, I kinda believed him. Def not a given but it’s not like Butler doesn’t usually come out on top against the Cs. Would actually like to see stats on Butler vs the Celtics since after our current superstars became the superstars of our team.

Lol no. The Heat were awful last year

My Duke by 25 prediction was far too kind

Anyway I’m watching LeBron vs Knicks at a NY Knicks bar with my friend tonight, so this probably isn’t even the biggest L of today

Cooper Flagg will win MVP one day
utter.webp

Lebron will beat OKC in first round but then they will fall to the Dubs. Unwittingly opening up the entire Western Conference for the Demon team. Fossil Jimmy Butler will push them all the way to the finals, where they lose to Boston. Since Jimmy isn't allowed to win finals. Kral is saved, and we make up for the first failure.

Things I've read so far is that Luka had a falling out with the org and said he won't be extending and that Mavs have concerns about his conditioning and health.

But this is still friggin wild.

Wow, looks like it was all about defense. Mavs were the ones to approach the Lakers about the trade. Luka did not ask out according to Shams. Mavs GM to ESPN: "I believe defense wins championships."

Guess Lakers pounced on their opportunity to get the next guy. This is crazy. AD wanted to slide to PF apparently?

Nice maxim but it’ll sound silly two years from now when AD is on the downswing and/or a part-time player and the Mavs don’t sniff another title.

Generationally bad trade. I’m not even willing to wait it out.

Yeah I'm not disagreeing with you. I mean when you have a generational player like Luka I just feel like you can't do whatever that was

Mavs lineup guess:

Kyrie/Dinwiddie
Grimes/Christie
Thompson/Marshall
Davis/Washington
Lively/Gafford
That team could conceivably win a title if Kyrie was actually 2016 GOAT mode Kyrie and AD was 2020 bubble AD again

As it stands with both on the wrong side of 30, and Mavs not having any picks in the late 2020s..:
