The 2025-2026 NBA Season

I'm confident in Wemby and the Spurs, given that no team has repeated since the Warriors. If San Antonio beats the Knicks, I expect LeBron to join New York. A direct piece-for-piece (*KAT for LBJ, it leaves zero wiggle room but they can throw in Hart and Robinson for wiggle room) The Lakers, on the other hand, are saddled with Doncic and his conditioning and off-court habits that have hindered him throughout his career.

KAT is much better than LeBron unfortunately

Such a disgrace. What is wrong with remaining in LA?
Lakers would have been competitive with OKC if they had Luka and Reeves healthy.
Why the hell is that egomaniac always looking to join a different team?
Could you ever imagine Curry looking to join other teams?

You said it—competitive but not championship-caliber. Can Curry win in another team? Did MJ? LBJ won with all the teams he's been with.

have no idea what you're watching...Knicks can compete successfully with either team and I think they beat either team...SA still has a lot of inexperience that will eventually show and OKC is already beat up, but I think the Knicks beat either even if both western teams are healthy

I think the refs are going to carry OKC to the title. And if the Knicks had to play the Spurs, Brunson being 4 feet tall may be a problem.

Knicks are playing good ball but I don't know. I am not yet convinced.

·Breaking: The NBA's Board of Governors has passed new anti-tanking rules that include expanding the draft lottery from 14 to 16 teams, a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams get penalized with lessened chances for the No. 1 pick, and flattened odds, sources tell ESPN.

LeBron started the team hopping and teaming up with elite free agents to chase rings. No HOF top 25 player does that unless they're insecure with their accomplishments and legacy.
Great, great player but way too much me-me, and now my d-league son has to get playing time. I don't know any long-time Laker fans who like him.

Well, Silva officially took the mask off today and ruined the future of the NBA for any small market teams. Fittingly, pulled up the ladder behind San Antonio after they build a generational core with picks 1, 4, and 2 in consecutive years. As long as he gets his Wemby-SGA dynasty for the next decade and the Barstool gambling types quiet down a bit about the tanking, he’s happy.

Truly a sad day for the future of the NBA. Just look at the actual math behind these odds… there’s a 71% chance the top pick goes to teams in the 6-12 range, it’s just hilariously stupid.

Come on Spurs!
First time in your life saying that :p

I do expect them to win tonight, though. They made Game 5 closer than it realistically should’ve been after going down 20 and I think really figured out how to get Wemby going inside towards the 2nd half. Plus, it never hurts that a titanic Game 7 on Saturday night primetime looms with a victory, a TV ratings bonanza for which Silver will surely be keen.

Spurs to win at a canter, imo.

I truly hate watching Stephon Castle play basketball. Based off the evidence of this series, he is a more flagrant foul baiter than SGA which is something I never even thought possible.

Just a horrible playstyle. Jump into people, swing elbows, play basketball like it's football. Very unskilled too. Just a gross, gross watch.

AI responds.

While Stephon Castle has quickly become a cornerstone for the San Antonio Spurs, comparing him to peak LeBron James—widely considered the pinnacle of basketball dominance—remains a massive stretch based on statistical production and career impact.

Harper is goating. I am impressed.

Yeah, I think I'm ready to admit there will be a game 7. Will the refs play straight up in the final game, or will they be gotten to once more? Only time will tell.

As for tonight, brilliant.
If they lean it has to be Spurs for the Wemby finals draw, but I believe it’s the game 1 crew which was even.

I don't really want him as a Laker either, but the fact is the Lakers organization doesn't want to return the COVID/asterisk championship, either. Having said that, with Doncic's suspect commitment to physical fitness year in and year out, especially during the offseason, I wonder why the Lakers even bothered. They are doomed for mediocrity, book it. They have to rebuild from scratch or acquire dominant players like Shaq.

He will have to tell you himself, but I often get the feeling he's comfortable with ''anybody but Curry.''

Makes sense! And what about you? You seem to like both. You’re like the Anti-Kral, balancing things out.

I did hear something interesting, apparently Game 6 of the finals at MSG takes place on the same day as France v Senegal at MetLife Stadium. Sounds like a crazy day for New York.

In the era of the big man, the Spurs usually gets it done. Thus, Spurs vs Knicks. Big man wins ultimately.

Welcoming LeBron James to New Yawk could finally get the Knicks over that hump. James Dolan is more focus on the business side than on winning titles, hence he will embrace Lebron like a long lost son.

The Knicks fanbase and the city of New Yawk desperately want a championship.

Quite frankly and clearly, LeBron wants a big market. Now that he knows those ingrate Lakers are hesitating to pay him for the championship that put them neck-and-neck with the Celtics, it is about time LeBron goes to the Knicks. Remember, even at his advanced age, he has never not won a title with any organization he has been involved with.

New York will be rocking. Now having mad thoughts about New York winning the title in game 6 or something.

My heart is with San Antonio. Mainly down to being a casual Wembanyama fanboy. I've only really paid close attention to OKC in this final because I zoned out when they played the Lakers, because it was so one-sided. I've been watching the Spurs from the beginning of the playoffs so grown attached to them.

Most of what I heard about OKC is the flopping and stuff. They haven't done much to put those rumours to bed whule I've been watching. Of course, there is talent and everything, but I'm almost tempted to compare OKC with Arsenal. :p

Drawing fouls is a great strategy for winning, but annoying to fans.

The Spurs have a great opportunity. If they execute well they’ll win, but they’re inconsistent.

I doubt he goes to New York. I suspect he resigns with the Lakers.

He’s said he will assess after the season is over though.

Knicks have two very good big men...granted, one can't shoot free throws, which will be a factor, but they don't have to struggle at that position...hell, the big turnaround for them happened when they changed KAT's role

And when I say anybody, I truly mean anybody. Yes, anybody. If the Dubs had played Mikel Arteta’s Gunners and Daniil Medvedev in successive rounds, you’d see me in a red and white top singing Come on you Gunners and clapping for Medvedev.

He is the absolute lowest of the low.

This will be a blessing for most of the long-time Laker fans. Mgmt has made questionable decision for quite some time.

I really hope not. Knicks fans revel around being tough and perservering with whomever is on their squad, not taking the easy way out and star stacking.

LeBron's always been the #1 option when he's won or lost, not a 3rd option. is he really trying to not retire until his finals record is 500? Knicks are fine win or lose.

It's really up to owner/mgmt to decide, the rest are just chess pieces to be pawned (pun intended)/ traded. But it is too early to tell, meanwhile just enjoy the show and see how it reveals itself.
