Nick Wright is making Wembanyama sound like Usyk just vacated another title. But yeah, again, pretty hard to argue right now.

I had considered Argentina's chances remote after losing the opening match to Saudi Arabia.
I currently see the Spurs' chances of turning this around as roughly one millionth of the chances I gave Argentina at that time.

The Spurs had a huge 25+ point lead and continued to heave and miss several long-range shots with 10+ seconds left on the shot clock. Why the rush???
If the Spurs bleed the clock on just a couple of those possessions, they win this game.
Spurs did not even have to make any shots. Just protect the lead.
It was not a choke. It was shockingly stupid clock-management

Do not see how the Spurs can psychologically come back from this.

3 games lost with comfortable leads in all fourth quarters point to poor coaching primarily .
Poor coaching transmits int insecurity in players, bricking threes, playing dumb, going cold,
Johnson seems to almost never have called a timeout to break Knicks rhythm.

Look at the first bucket scored by the Knicks.

KTown drives to the bucket and Castle is literally holding on and slowing down KTown the ENTIRE time he is driving toward the basket. 12-15 feet yanking on his shorts.

No call.

Knock yourself out. I had no idea it was still basketball season until last week. Not sure why Dr Raul is so into it. Haven’t seen him this excited since The Great EV Thread.

My pleasure. I had no idea it was basketball season either until I learned that the Spurs (whom I had completely forgotten about since Ginóbili retired and soon afterwards disappeared from the playoffs) had somehow put together a good season, drafted the greatest tall otherworldly player capable of doing literally everything since the invention of the game, a player who was supposedly going to lead them to ten or more consecutive championships, and improbably defeated last year’s champions in the conference finals in game 7 after trailing 2-3, only to proceed to give 3 games away with comfortable leads in every fourth quarter through the combined sheer incompetence of management, coaching, veteran players, rookie players, with the mascot perhaps being the only innocent member of the entire franchise.
 
Sad thing is as a big Spurs fan that loss was not the most upsetting sports moment of the week for me. Carlos is hurt, the Spurs are choking, the bad guys are winning. All will be worth it if Carlitos can get healthy and we can get more Sincaraz wars starting in September. I guess Knicks fans at least have this.

And we will see everyone at Game 6 in Madison Square Garden.
It will happen. It must happen.

Does anybody believe the NBA will not rig Game 5 for the Spurs?

no the Spurs have home in Game 5. Then the Knicks host game 6. But bouncing back from that comeback would be a gritty statement

Unless the comeback has shaken them, the Spurs should take care of business at home in Game 5.
Only one more game left at Madison Square Garden. And the Spurs appear to be very comfortable on the road.
Still can't figure out how Wemby, an elite shooter, missed those two free throws in the clutch. Not even close.

They will make sure KTown and Anunobly get into fowl trouble early so that they will be too chicken to be aggressive for the rest of the game.

I would rather see the Spurs lose by a 30 point deficit for good in game 5.
I wouldn’t stomach watching them lead by double digits ever again.

Now if that were the ever so boring and masters degree in flopping SGA, the refs would call a foul on front row fans.
Refs are trying so hard to rig the series.

I don't mind allowing more physical play in the playoffs. Teams also need to get an enforcer player when other teams try to injure a key player.


Wembenyama is extremely dirty and he has to know refs are letting him get away with it or wouldn't try that.

Wemby really amassed an entire career of dirty plays already at 22 :-D. Like objectively I don’t think it’s possible for anyone to deny that he’s dirty player

10 seconds left, one point lead. Fox should have held on to the ball. He would have been fouled with little time left. Game over if he hits free throws.
It was a blunder but it was a blunder made in the heat of the moment. The criticism of Fox is not warranted.
The rules need to be changed so that refs can review the play on their own.
Fox was clearly fouled.
