The 2025-2026 NBA Season

Im not going to doom about Charlotte because they’re blowing my mind and making me enjoy watching Charlotte basketball for the first time in a decade.

However I will say that this year has significantly hurt my estimation of LeBron James as a competitor and person. He should’ve exhausted every single resource at his disposal to get out of this dumpster fire, even retirement. Anything would be better than tying your legacy to the Pelinka-Buss Lakers. I think he still is the GOAT, but he had to thread an extremely thin needle leaving Cleveland in 2018 with 3 rings, and he has failed to do so by inexplicably trusting the most incompetent franchise in sports.

To a T, I knew this exact outcome would happen. All the air is out of our balloon
We had some disrupters shaking things up and CHA kind of lost composure I think. Shoutout Dru smith. Kon tried holding down and then grant with some corner 3s but idk it was like there was no identity in the 4th. Diabate felt like he was taken out of the equation, didn’t see any utility there at all don’t know if that was a scheme thing or not, Lamelo didn’t do sh*t I can’t even remember some good usage of gravity there to set something up he was like a role player we didn’t GAF defensively, and I actually want to see Brandon Miller cook because I haven’t really seen him much but yeah I guess he did all his work in the previous quarters I only tuned to the 4th

Celtics are all that can stop OKC. We failed the world once by letting Wardell win it all. We will do our best to stop an even greater plague, SGA, from winning another.

The Pistons are complete frauds. The East is the Celtics to lose.

Just an incredible battle down the stretch tonight. Jokic with some late clutchness and still his terrifying self, but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is your MVP, ladies and gentlemen. Close the ballots tonight, it’s over. What a game winner. His aggressiveness both scoring and passing is going to another level and that makes him unstoppable. He is the best guard since MJ.

Can’t wait til Denver gets healthy though. This will be an amazing WCF.

I am glad Tottenham is getting relegated.

if you had told me that Bam Adebayo was going to score more than Kobe’s 81, and that the Charlotte Hornets would also be ahead of the Golden State Demon Team in mid March, I would have easily picked the former as more believable.

You know, I've been making this same point to the efficiency idiots for years but frankly this guy does it better. Thanks for that. It really is comical how the fanboys STILL insist MJ vs. LBJ (or anyone else) is a thing! And don't get me started on their even more hysterical "Kobe was a ballhog" canard.
Well LBJ is clearly the best ever under the modern ruleset where teams are allowed to shoot 3 pointers and there’s no illegal defense, he just is much better at manipulating a 5 man defense with complex help and all that, while Jordan excels at manipulating just a one man defense bc doubles weren’t allowed.

Jordan can have the best of the 20th century. Thats what he is, a 20th century basketball player, but for some reason people can’t accept that he played 30 years ago. The game has changed and there are other great players now.

Best of each era: Russell; Kareem; Jordan; LeBron; now, possibly Wemby. If that gargantuan VW does indeed surpass my Bron, I won’t complain I’ll just accept that the game has evolved.

Funny story, I lost my train of thought the other day because my phone rang, so instead of using the stick to icon pass, I took a shot from near the halfway line. I could hear the Metal Gear Solid sound in my mind when it happened; somebody was going to get annoyed, and it just happened to be the primary ball handler. He didn't pass to me again; others did, but it was more like the ball reached me when there was 1-2 seconds left to shoot. Was a real shame, because I was playing well and was still getting back to defend.

One of those times, I wish I had a mic so I could explain myself and let him know I wasn't trolling. He probably wouldn't have accepted this since you have to be ''locked in at all times, kid.''

Also,

Back to the (semi-)fake big nite:

Sour grapes? Sure, but she's not wrong.

A more measured take:

The fact that Bam shot more FTs than even Wilt 100 did says it all, really. 36/43!!! I mean JFC.

Of course this is where I remind y'all of the real thing:

And don't forget my boy connected on more than half of his treys. 7/13 vs. Bam's ho-hum 7/22!!!

Bam said he was "chasing greatness". Okay, I'll give it a shot:

"As long as basketball is discussed among true fans, the name of Bam Adebayo will be mentioned alongside the Wilts, Kobes, etc. Guys who beat up on defenseless teams to set 'individual scoring in a game' records."

@Kralingen dell curry jersey retirement? What for I didn’t know he mattered especially
For obvious reasons I am biased against everything Curry so I’m on your side but, I kind of get it. He was the longest termed Hornet of the 90s, held all these franchise records for points and 3s and games played, won 6MOY etc. Kemba surpassed him in some obviously but he’s still #2 in most. The thing I can’t get around is he didn’t even start for Charlotte and he was a pretty average player outside of a couple good years. Even with the off court community stuff I’m not sure if I can get there. But he is the broadcaster and frankly, much as I hate to say it, hanging “Curry 30” in the rafters is absolutely a big part of it.

Essentially if he were named Dell Jones and left Charlotte after retiring he probably wouldn’t get anything but bc he’s the broadcaster has the Curry name and everything and because the franchise is so absolutely pathetic that we have no other banners up, I suppose why not.

Not giving him credit for rearing CHA legend Seth Curry

It’s basically what happens when you have 3 of the worst owners in sports history in quick succession, and the least worst of them manages to stick around for nearly 2 decades due to his reputation as a player. Pure barren losing and despair for the entire 21st century.

Now I think Kemba absolutely deserves it and would on most franchises. But Dell is a bone thrown to fans to say “thanks for sticking around our awful franchise for so long, oh and having Curry 30 in the rafters is good for marketing”
