Laver or Rosewall, Borg or McEnroe, Sampras or Agassi, Federer or Nadal, Little Bill or Big Bill. The history of tennis has been built on great rivalries. With Sinner joining Alcaraz as a multiple slam winner it looks like the next great rivalry is definitively under way. Who do you favour? And why? There can be only one. So choose wisely!

Think this will become quite a bitter rivalry actually. Both do seem to have a hard edge to them, which hasnt shown itself much yet but i have noticed it more this year.
I like both, but gotta stick with Alcaraz as ive followed him before he was known to the wider public and Sinner winning this i think is a blessing to Alcaraz and will kick that complacency he exhibited post Wimbledon out his rear end.
The AO is set up nicely now.

What's so fun, is that I am not really sure who is going to come out on top. We knew Sampras was usually going to beat Andre. We knew Rafa was usually going to beat Fed (unless it was indoors hard).

But it's really anyone's guess between Sinner and Carlos.

Keep in mind that Samps never beat Agassi at either the AO or FO.

Shouldn't it be Djokovic or Nadal? I thought Fed was a footnote in tennis history. You're starting to worry me old chap, you seem to be slipping.

The one with bigger mouth. He's capable of doing all when playing his best, not just movement and powerful strokes, but volleys, drop shots, big serves, everything is world class. Thus 4 slams and silver medal at only 21 years of age.

Sinner is incredible btw. I'll love this new rivalry.

I have decided that with this new generation I refuse to repeat the childish mistakes of the previous one and get involved in this tribalist bullship. I love them both, and will continue to do so till I have reason to do otherwise (nope, not yet). But Alcaraz gets the edge. The guy is just too much fun in action. He turns watching tennis (when he's playing well) into a party, and while he does definitely need to get more disciplined, he better not get too disciplined and eradicate all joy.

My main ask is just for the rivalry to stay relatively even. I don't want either guy dominating or starting to run away with things.

I'll always prefer Alcaraz's game though. All things being equal, I root for him.

Can't pick yet. There's something in both of their games that impresses me - Alcaraz has a bit of extra flair but still missing a couple of pieces (year round consistency being one of them)

Djokovic-Nadal while similar or higher level never had the poetry or iconic matches that Fedal did.

Alcaraz made me a fan instantly the first time I watched him from courtside. It is not only his entertaining play, speed and power, but also the joy that he projects with his frequent smiles. Sinner has never had the same effect on me although he is a very good player - plus his positive doping test kills any interest I might have had in rooting for him.

Still hoping for the old man to keep it as a new Big 3 trio at the top of the game for a couple of more years. Then we can have some big-draw semifinals in addition to finals at the big tournaments. The Big 3 trio era was much more fun for me than any era in the past when there were two top players having a great rivalry.

For me to stay invested I need someone that wins often that I don't want to see win (Sinner) and someone that wins often that I do want to see win (Alcaraz) so this is perfect :D

Regardless of who you support, these are two very talented young players and this budding rivalry is exactly what tennis has been lacking for the last 5 years.
Exactly. It is a win-win.

Era haters get good tennis. Big3 fans get new favs and new rivals. We get to project crazy numbers abd start debating farm animal nonsense.

The danish brat, of course!

Yuck .... Super cringe

Danish Brat is the epitome of a manchild and a loser.... I think it is better to retire from the sport as a viewer than support the danish brat Rune..... terrible player.... I hate his dumb smile when I see it....lol...

For me both Alcaraz and Sinner are more or less same, I might be tilted a bit in favor of Alcaraz because of his mental toughness and athletic game but this doesn't mean I am rooting for Sinner to lose..... I am ok with anybody winning, no horse in the race as such.

Lol you can't be a HC merchant when that is the main surface and most competitive.

As of right now the doper is a HC merchant enhanced by the tour having being so HC heavy, Alcaraz has done it all in all 3 surfaces and doesn't rely just on one surface. Come back to me when Sinner does it on all 3 cuz he's not in Alcaraz's league right now.

don't worry, I have seen this cycle being repeated before with another robot on the tour ;) that's why it'll be all the more special to see Alcaraz winning

Early days. Both great. Will end up with similar number of slams by the end of their career, maybe a few more for Sinner but both > 15 most likely.
