I really hope this sparks a positive run. Even beating Dimi is a solid enough win, but he needs to start stringing them together before he drops out of the premium rankings.

With today's victory Felix enters the top 20 again at 19th. If he wins the tournament he will be the top Canadian again at 15th, edging out Shapo who would drop to 16th.

Although Felix beat Slovenia’s Aljaz Bedene in straight sets earlier today in quarter-final action in Rotterdam, it was actually quite a close match, and the second set could have gone either way. After building a 6-4, 3-0 lead, the Canadian was broken back as Bedene levelled at 3-all in the second set, and after that, the battle was really joined. At 5-all Felix saved a break point, and in the ensuing tiebreak, a set point, at 5 points to 6, before winning the last three points, the set and the match, 6-4, 7-6(6).

Felix takes over the "youngest ever finalist at Rotterdam" award from Federer who held it for 18 years, 11 months, and 27 days. by three days. Federer lost in the final. Can Felix do what Federer simply was unable to accomplish tomorrow?

Any idea what the announcers are talking about when they keep mentioning Felix going back to his old frame? Thought he was always missing the Pure Aero VS tour

Monfils already trying to suck up to Felix knowing he's the one that's going to lose tomorrow : (kidding)

“He is a great guy; humble guy,” Monfils said of Auger-Aliassime. “He is a very talented guy. Definitely I expect a tough match, but a cool match because I think we might see him for a long time in this part of a tournament on this stage.”

I expect there is a bond between these two, both are black whose fathers came from former (or presently?) French colonies and speak french, & both are tall, athletic and charming.

Tomorrow's game is on at an extremely luxurious 10:30 AM Sunday morning, my time. I have absolutely no idea what time it's on in Toronto.

Those of us who are in the same time zone as the centre (notice, not "center") of the universe pass along our respect to those of you hanging way out there, dangling in the extreme Atlantic, being buffetted by the Gulf Stream, or hiking your pants up, due to the highest tides in the world in the Bay of Fundy. How do you survive?? We'll watch the tennis and let you know how it turns out. In return, please let us know if you are still alive.

We're fine

Raptors will defend their championship with Lowry winning finals MVP.
And Leafs will finally beat Boston in round 1 on their way to the cup.

So you’re expecting the Lightning to pass Boston and get a WC team in 1R while the Bruins draw Toronto? And then the Leafs win?

Good luck!

Kid turns 20 after Wimbledon. He has 2 Slam wins. 0-4 in ATP finals and 0-8 sets.

That's how tennis works. A promising start at 16, 17 can lose all luster by 20.

I wouldn't call this "choking." I would call this being thoroughly, and demoralizingly so, outplayed in every facet of the game.

Felix is by far the better player. The fact he is being “outplayed” is Bc he chokes in every big match and doesn’t play to his potential

Oh would ya look at that, Romeo is right again isn’t he @Red Rick? Felix suddenly has nothing to lose and all his talents come out. Now that the set is tight, watch him make errors again and choke. Bow down to my greatness

For fans of Felix:
- Shapo also lost to Monfils the first time they met but beat him the second time
- Roger Federer also lost in the Rotterdam final when he was 19
- Of the 23 players who lost their first 4 finals, 16 of them won their 5th
