The Australian Open 2018 smartphone app

My god does this thing suck balls.Grand slam apps have never been good but this one takes the cake. At first I couldn’t open it without being bombarded with questions about me wanting to receive notifications (ironic) and if I was attending the tournament.
Now they fixed that bug but I still get “There was a problem loading the page” if I click on the most basic things, like todays results or the men’s draw.

Honestly, I have friends that design apps for fun in their free time that could do a much better job at this. This is just terrible. I’m wondering if there’s something wrong with my phone because I just can’t imagine the AO releasing an app this buggy and just overal terrible to the public.

It's not your phone. I've basically given up on the app myself, for the very same reasons you list.

Very bad design! Not too functional since it goes back to the top of the page all the time if you drill into menu offerings. Does not do portrait mode only landscape and the text and layout is way to big for the screen size! Many other failures too! LOL!

By far, the worst Slam app I've ever used. I'm surprised some folks give it a 5-star rating in App store .

Constantly getting "503 nginx error". Most likely due to overload or misconfig. Appalling for a Grand Slam app. I'd like to know the mobile developer/company, so I will never hire them .

I'm disappointed with their website as well. I checked some live match stats and they were one set behind the actual match.

don't use the tournament app, its horrible. Tennis Temple is what I use and it is AMAZING. The only problem with it is it doesn't include doubles matches in its coverage. If you don't care about doubles, its perfect.

Worst app ever. Just don’t compare your friends apps to the AUS open app that has to handle thousands of simultaneous users watching videos and stuff, different ball game.
