This will be a quick review of 361Nation/Prince Beast XP 16g mains and Tecnifibre X-One Biphase 16g crosses. I tried them strung at 52, 54, 56, and 58#s in a Youtek Prestige MP.
This string is great at the two lower tensions, 52#s was what I felt played best for me, that being said this will be almost entirely on that tension. Very soft at all tensions and nice ball pocketing, the ball seemed to sit on the string bed allowing me to really control the direction which I did not feel from strings like RPM, PHT, Lux AluP, etc. This string was not very powerful in that if you just stick your racquet out, the ball wont go anywhere. But if you have a solid long stroke you wont find many a string that hits better (imo), I like taking big cuts outta the ball on my groundstrokes and this string fit that style of hitting to the T. Transition tennis was a little tricky at first but once I found the way the looser tension reacted it was no problem, hitting hard rolling shots up the line, chipping off both wings, punching flatter shots, it all felt nice once dialed in. I actually didnt hit many tough volleys with this string so far, the approaches were very good. Putting away the first ball while at net was easy, VERY easy. Direction control was great and the loose strings added great zip to my volleys. When I was stretched at net on just two points the shot produced was 1st- pathetic in the net but 2nd- great dropper. Back to baseline tennis, shots were very consistent in depth and spin unless I changed something, the ball kicked up very well on my forehand side and were staying around knee high on the backhand (1 hander and kinda more flat), angles were easy to generate even on the move, short balls were quick to be put away, just great from the back court. One thing I would like to say is that this setup rewards low to high swinging, if you dont get under the ball or hit very flat, Id steer clear. Tried flattening out my rally ball and did not like the results. NOW, my favorite shot with this setup, THE SLIIIIICE!!! They were b-e-a-utiful! They went through the court better then ever and really stayed low, I loved cutting my backhand. Ok well thats all for now, I will serve more with them to get a good idea of how they play and will talk about tension maintenance once I have more time on them (played 5 hours total today and they felt pretty much the same from start to end).

Flat serves=meh. Nothing new here, low tension produces nice pop on flat serves, the consistent string bed makes it pretty easy to dial in the flat serves.
Slice serves were pretty nice, good spin to pull the ball out of the court.
Topspin/kick serves were a little deceptive, they moved at a normal speed through the air but jumped off the court like they had a motor. Very nice for second serves!
I did like this setup on spin serves more then on my flat serves but overall it was a good consistent string job. Just to add I still have not been able to hit a flatter shot as a rally ball from the baseline, this string really seems to react best to spin.

I thought this string sucked, Zero pop, lacking spin, felt really dull. all that marketing BS for this crap?

I strung up 2 more prestige mps at 52#s and am still liking the stuff! You must not be timing it right or missing the sweetspot or something cause I get more zip from this then RPM (not as much as alu p though). As for spin, it's not as much as RPM now that I think about it, it's more from the swing path and swing speed. What I mean by swing path is that with RPM I finish more around my waist (flatter stroke) but with Beast XP I finish well over my shoulder (getting under the ball for more spin).

i really liked this string actually. able to take big cuts and i could create monster spin on forehands and serves.i am not paying 14.50 for it. but it has made me consider playing with a full bed of co poly

I also really enjoyed the string (14.50 enjoyment...well maybe not that much). However, Thought that the 17g really stood out for me @ 53 full bed on my rebels. Nice pop and spin. I also was able to really swing out and not fear the ball sailing long.

i used 60 on a full bed. at first i thought it was too stiff. but after the tension dropped, i really liked it

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one enjoying this string! Well 3 of my frames snapped on the cross today, between 3-4 hours on each of them, response stayed constant on all of them up until breakage. Really enjoyed taking big cuts at the ball with these... Need to play them side by side with savage, I get a feeling I might like these more just because of the extra control. When I run out of the extra packs I snagged, I'm gonna try begging the rep for a reel! If I can't get it I'll just beg my coach to get it!

Very crisp feeling at 52# in my Prestige's. I liked the 17g best.

However, I don't see any future purchases at the price point they want.

hey could you email me the email you used and the price and details. any discount is nice :D
I didn't go through email. I'm not with prince, my coach is, the prince rep in my area knows me pretty well from the bigger tournys. He asked me to try the string and gave me a pack, my coach gave me a few more and when I found a tension I liked I got a few more from my coach to string up. My coach still has a few packs left but he will most likely string at least 2 of his frames with it. If he likes it he will get a reel for free, and then I'll mooch off of him!

Ok just a little update, THIS STRING ROCKS! Still hitting well with it, like it much more then RPM. Only problem is that it is cutting right through the X1 cross, I mean its ridiculous how fast this stuff shreds strings. I still havent had it in long enough on any stick to notice much of a drop in tension. Really thinking about a full bed. Only reason I havent done it yet is that this green in a Prestige=Christmas ornament...

So you only got 3-4 hours of playing out of this $14 string?

Yeah, I rotate my frames during practice and matches to keep play time relatively the same on all of my frames. In all my breaks it's the cross snapping, not the Beast XP mains. I haven't had to pay for anything other then my X1 crosses but yeah the price point is really high on Beast. I think I'm gonna try a full bed soon.

I got an email from 361 and they said they are working on a new version of the 17g string. Anyone else on here get that email?

Interesting. I didn't get the email, but I have had two sets of 17 bust way too quickly. Maybe they can fix it. Still not sure I would pay more than $10 a set for it. Too many other strings that are comparable/better under $10. It is green though. :)

I got 5 sets in total (1 from TT and 4 from Prince). Really like the string, I find it gives great control and it's an eye catcher.
