Matches really? I mean really? They played 1 singles on grass one as in singular, try and mask your bias very well next time

Against the tour? Djokovic.
Against each other? Murray.

It's hard to compare 5 Wimbledon titles to 2 and say the 2 is better even if you include the other grass achievements and even tho Murray is most likely to be better than Djokovic in a direct match between the two on grass. He's made the Wimbledon final less times than Djokovic has won it. We had this exact thread a couple of years ago when it was 3 Wimbledon titles to 2 and in that thread i voted Murray because it was closer then. It's no longer comparable now and i say this as a Murray fan.

Djokovic was below his in Wimbeldon 2013 and still took big leads in 2/3 sets at one point. I think Djokovic would be the favourite over Murray in a peak for peak matchup.

Y
Olympics Semi final. Crushed him in the semi final at Wimbledon even tho it wasn't technically Wimbledon. It was grass and the same surface and court as the Wimbledon final.
Yea, seems I forgot that 7-5 7-5 crushing, I don't really give a s*** about tennis at Olympics, but it's still tennis

It's a huge deal in the sports world and sometimes i think the public forget that. Representing your country in sports is one of the highest honours in my view and it seems to be a view shared by many of the great tennis players. Also one could make a strong case for that tournament being the stepping stone Murray needed to be a 3-time slam champion. At that point he had no slams and had just come off the back of a tough Wimbledon final defeat to Federer and went on to win the US open that year so it was definitely important to him.

Djokovic with 5 slams. It's a shame Murray was so flakey against Federer and top players in 2015 and then got injured after 2016 then it might have been a conversation.

Tennis at the Olympics is a no no for me

djoko has 4 Wims at prime or prime-ish level. Murray 2.
Djoko gets this obviously, but edge is nowhere near as 7>2.
Even 09-11 Murray wins Wim 21/22 for sure, let alone prime Murray. prime Murray takes Wim 19 as well.

Djokovic in 5 peak for peak.

Career Djokovic with 7 >>> 2 but it should really be 6 >> 3. Murray nabs one more without the injury problems.

Is this question still being resolved? :-D:X3:Djoker has 5 Wimbledon titles more than Murray, which is Borg's entire career in Wimbledon. In addition, Nole was able to defend his title at Wimbledon, even creating a series of four consecutive triumphs. Nole is among the greatest Wimbledon champions of the Open era alongside Fed, Pete and Borg.

Murray found Djokovic on his worst days on grass. The sample is so small. His h2h on grass against Djokovic is only relevant as Kyrgios' h2h against Djokovic was before Wimbledon final. 2011/2015/2018 version of Djokovic beats any Murray quite comfortably on grass.

nah, Oly win from Murray was against a legit fresh Djokovic.
he's not an easy matchup for Djokovic on grass with slice working best there.
only one who comfortably beats 12/13/16 Murray on grass is 15 Djoko.
11/14 djoko might just edge it out, but it'd be close.
18 Djoko is similar to 12 djoko - he would got outlasted atleast.

Olympic Djokovic lost in Bronze medal match as well in straights to Potro. Nothing suggests he was in great form. If anyone it's Del Potro who is tougher matchup for Djokovic on grass - he beat him at Olympics and took all out of Djokovic in W13. Murray just capitalised on opportunity that was created by Potro..

This is like the reverse of the norm for Djoker - Murray, where this time it’s Murray that does everything Djoker does, but slightly better. So I agree with people that really only 2015ovic would be reliable for beating the best Murrays on grass.

We can talk about versions of Djoker, his form at times etc but the reality is it’s a super long way to climb from never having won a set IRL to being better in the matchup hypothetically. Evidently that isn’t stopping Djokovic fans though

Career-wise it’s not a question obvs so I assumed this was about matchup

not great, but lower prime form (12/13/18) on grass for Djoko.
pretty sure djoko was more motivated for the Murray semi than the playoff vs delpo.
didn't Delpo have to save 1 or 2 MPs in the 4th set of Wim 13? Djoko was better player clearly, but delpo was clutch enough to take it to a 5th set.
even without the semi, I think Murray would have the slight edge vs Djoko in Wim 13.

What Murray achieved at Wimbledon is great historically and great for the game. He was the 1st man from the UK in 75+ years to win Wimbledon and it will be a very long time before it happens again. With that said, it's 7 versus 2. That simply is no comparison.

Peak for Peak 10 matches?

Murray 3rd highest grass peak since 2002 on grass?
Peak Murray probably takes a few from Fed as well. No weaknesses off the ground whereas Fed’s backhand is one, unfortunately for him.

Peak Fed probably goes 13-7 against peak Murray.

Peak Nadal goes 18-2 against Murray.

Murray goes 14-6 against Djok

Vs 03-08 I assume this is?

The 2016 Murray would have defeated the 2019, 2021 and 2022 versions of Djokovic at Wimbledon.

Murray is a bad match up for Novak on grass.

Tennis is often about match ups and that’s all there is to it really.
