Over the years, the Big 3 have shown me things that I never thought were possible. Each had his own defining comeback.
1. Nadal showed in 2013 that it is possible to return after a long injury layoff and dominate like it was nothing and win multiple slams. In terms of win-loss record, 2013 is Nadal's best season by a decent margin.
2. Federer showed me in 2017 that it is possible to win a slam as your first official tournament back from a long injury layoff. And that you can win multiple slams and return to no.1 at age 35-36.
3. For many years I believed that it was impossible to just flip a switch in a season after having no momentum as Federer's 2013 and Nadal's 2015 had proven. Then comes Djokovic who has no momentum for half of the year and out of nowhere flips a switch and becomes the best player of the year by winning multiple slams and jumling from no.22 to no.1 in the world. And all this after a long injury layoff too.
Basically, the Big 3 have skewed out perception on the gravity of injury layoffs, as all 3 have won multiple majors in their comeback years and in Novak's case while having no momentum.
