Weed, its legal up there i think. Or cant do with your job?

Brb, going to get mexican food.

Lmho! Oh God Chad, you keep suggesting ridiculous stuff - first vodka and now, weed. :p

I don't do weed or anything similar. I don't even take prescription drugs. And doesn't really matter if they are legal or not. And yes, they will fire me if they find out I do weed on the side lol.

I do prefer healing naturally. But I've started taking Advil (cold and fever) since last night so I think it will take at least a couple of more days for me to get a lot better. I will just need to be patient. I am also drinking plenty of water and chewing Vitamin C (you might have recommended that too!) every now and then. Also eating a lot of chicken soup and trying to eat as much fruits and veggies as possible. I am seeing this as a much-needed downtime and have decided that I will not return to work until Jan 7th even though I am due back on the 2nd. I had some plans over the holidays, granted but none of them had anything to do with Chrismas or the New Year (though I am going over my 2019 goals in my head a lot) but we did have a really nice time last night as my sister made dinner for all of us.

Actually, I am looking a bit better today than yesterday so I think that's a good sign. Anyway, what kind of Mexican food did you get? I once made this shrimp/lobster taco that was really good.

Chipolte gift card, 3 hard chicken taco's with lime white rice and black bean on the bottom, sour creme, lettuce, spicey corn and hot sauce. Chips and salsa on the side, wanted crunchy. Wasnt nearly as good as my normal spot, shells and chips were stale. $15 bucks left, will go again, highlight was the 5ft miley clone i spoke with in a long line.

Very happy to hear your doing better, i find new year resolutions silly, why wait to do something.

Seafood taco's? You and @TheGhostOfAgassi would get along great :) Im not seeing any sour creme or cheese in your pic, just a bowl of lettuce and something id prefer to dip in cocktail sauce/butter

Your Mexican food sounds nice and delicious. I especially like the sound of like white rice and black bean.

These are not NY resolutions but goals for 2019. We also do it at work which is professional goals but these are personal. For example, I'd like to take my photography course to the next level and that course won't start until May (there's one in Winter too but I don't think it'd be ideal for me given the cold) next year, so this is not something you can't start right away.

This was my version of seafood taco so wanted to avoid both cheese and sour creme. And it was not a bowl of lettuce but a mix of salsa (has mango in it and some other ingredients).

Why the unnecessary mention of Ghost? I'd rather you didn't.

I am able to function a bit more but heavy cough and cold is still there and also, feel very weak after an hour or two so tend to go back to bed from time to time.

My next challenge is now to go out and buy some soup but I feel somewhat down and out already.

Last night, I tried to watch this new series on Netflix called You but it got very boring by the 4th episode.

I did watch a movie called The Loft the other night as I was feeling so blah and while the movie kept me engaged, it was also a bit messy. Still a good or average thriller.

I had chicken soup with a whole wheat bun. And had some fruits a bit later (mango, kiwi and grapes). Do you cook or do you prefer take outs?

My recovery is very slow. I feel I am getting better about 5% each day. Not sure how to make it faster even though I want to, very much. Today I took my car out (to buy the soup) after staying home 6 straight days since last Friday.

Not getting worse is always getting better, your on the right side :)

Lucky that you get to eat at your parents. As to rib stew and cornbread, I haven't had that in a while. Would you say that's a very southern dish or a country dish? I know it's very yummy.

I go over there a few times a day, love being 2 stop signs away.

Id say its universal, but im using cornbread so its southern. It would be perfect for you while sick, carrots, potatoes and meat, steaming hot. Maybe get some when your stomach starts talking again

I don't think stew is universal. I wouldn't say either Aisa or the Middle East are aware of any kind of stew. And cornbread even less.

Yes, it does sound perfect and I feel my appetite is somewhat coming back to normal.

It's very nice that your parents live so close by. I would have wanted the same for my parents too and for myself.

Stew is just vegtables and meat mixed together. My mom uses cream of mushroom for the broth, its really good.

Get a nice big plate of white rice with some butter, pour the stew on top :) Its amazing as well, the liquid part gets absorbed, like chinese food

Sounds utterly lovely. How about some dessert afterwards? Homemade chocolate syrup and whipped cream with some fruits.

Oldest evidence of stew is from Japan.

In Kerala state of India, "ishtu" is very famous. But it probably came from the Portuguese. Stew became ishtu for easier pronunciation.

Cornbread in the form of makki ki roti has been a favorite in the Punjab. It is typically eaten with sarson ka saag, "spinach" of mustard leaves.

It is interesting that both there and in the US, butter became associated with cornbread.

I was debating about it but I am making up mind more and more that I'd like to stay away from the forum during the AO. And back either end of January or early February (hopefully). I'd like to go MIA before the draw comes out.

You have a few hours to go missing then. :p

I was thinking about taking a break in February myself. Lots of studying and working out to do soon...

I stumbled over this retake on the classic "Who's on first"-joke and giggled - several years later :giggle:

-------

Soon after the announcement that the Communist Party had chosen Chinese Vice President Hu Jintao as its new general secretary, playwright James Sherman wrote the following skit based on the Abbott and Costello's Who's on First classic.

Hu's on first

(We take you now to the Oval Office where George W. is meeting with Condoleezza Rice)
George: Condi! Nice to see you. What's happening?
Condi: Sir, I have the report here about the new leader of China.
George: Great. Lay it on me.
Condi: Hu is the new leader of China.
George: That's what I want to know.
Condi: That's what I'm telling you.
George: That's what I'm asking you. Who is the new leader of China?
Condi: Yes.
George: I mean the fellow's name.
Condi: Hu.
George: The guy in China.
Condi: Hu.
George: The new leader of China.
Condi: Hu.
George: The Chinaman!
Condi: Hu is leading China.
George: Now whaddya' asking me for?
Condi: I'm telling you Hu is leading China.
George:Well, I'm asking you. Who is leading China?
Condi: That's the man's name.
George: That's who's name?
Condi: Yes.
George: Will you or will you not tell me the name of the new leader of China?
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Yasser? Yasser Arafat is in China? I thought he was in the Middle East.
Condi: That's correct.
George: Then who is in China?
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Yasser is in China?
Condi: No, sir.
George: Then who is?
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Yasser?
Condi: No, sir.
George: Look, Condi. I need to know the name of the new leader of China. Get me the secretary-general of the U.N. on the phone.
Condi: Kofi?
George: No, thanks.
Condi: You want Kofi?
George: No.
Condi: You don't want Kofi.
George: No. But now that you mention it, I could use a glass of milk. And then get me the U.N.
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: Not Yasser! The guy at the U.N.
Condi: Kofi?
George: Milk! Will you please make the call?
Condi: And call who?
George: Who is the guy at the U.N.?
Condi: Hu is the guy in China.
George: Will you stay out of China?!
Condi: Yes, sir.
George: And stay out of the Middle East! Just get me the guy at the U.N.
Condi: Kofi.
George: All right! With cream and two sugars. Now get on the phone. (Condi picks up the phone)
Condi: Rice, here.
George: Rice? Good idea. And a couple of egg rolls, too. Maybe we should send some to the guy in China. And the Middle East. Can you get Chinese food in the Middle East?

Made crispy chicken stew for dinner to comfort self after the dreadful news.

Cut your potatoes in half so they soften and suck up all the stew juice.

Looks really good though, i would need a bigger bowl :)

They are cut in half. You are seeing the upside down one in that bowl. Below is another picture. Anyway, gotta go now.

Richie @Poisoned Slice - I have decided to post a quite blurry picture of mine (much edited version to make it look like this) to give you some ideas about my missing head or the one I laughed off. But I have finally started to take some shape!

Here's another one but this one probably looks a bit scary after I distorted it significantly with eyes looking like a couple of black holes. lmho

We are getting a dump of 10-15cm of snow this weekend. I have decided to capitalize this opportunity and take some mesmerizing pictures of the snow. Hopefully my adventure won't make me fall sick again!

One upon a time in deep snow I went window shopping downtown Toronto and the rest was history.

Just yay?

WHAT? AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU?

DO I NOT ENTERTAIN YOU ENOUGH?

Send me a picture of you, pronto. I feel the need to distort it but with love and care, promise.

And please post the song twisted love while you are at it.

You are good enough and entertaining enough.
.
Nice smile would have felt forced because the images are all ''cinematically jazzed up.'' But I do feel there is a nice smile shining through. Use your talent to make me look beautiful, dearie. Not really in condition for a picture now. Not comfortable.

Wrong song? :p

There's a smile, yes. And no worries. You are beautiful in my eyes I was teasing you with the picture thingy.

No, good song. I had something different in mind but this is much better.

Today is just not a good day for me. I keep losing stuff and keep making silly mistakes! Need to get off work but can't until 4:30p. And there's a storm coming tomorrow and the temp will drop to gasp! -34!

I ain't going anywhere but there goes my plan to take pictures. Rats!

Yes, Zara.

I know it has been talked about for years. Guess they've finally reached the now or never point. Just how long will James Earl Jones be around to lend his wonderful voice to people? etc

Oh that one is a gem and one of the best out there. For some reason, I thought it already had a sequel? Agree about James. Awesome voice and he can be very funny too.
