The Brotherhood of the Traveling Radical

I was the one who took the liberty of matching the traveling bee up with Agassi's heyday SW and static weight. That was my way of signing it. I don't remember the exact amount added at 3&9 (9 or 10g?), but final SW after mods is about 350. I also contributed a bit of lead tape at top of handle under the grip.

Ah, now I know. Thanks for the info! I’ll try to match mine as well. Do you remember what kind of strings that are use on there and at what tension?

I read in one of the early posts that @J011yroger 's stringer donated a set of kevlar/NG but it looks like SG. Could have been replaced along the way and I don't recall if a Brother of the Bee mentioned the replacement. I just know that the string combo provided a thunderous sound on sweet spot shots

Where did you get your specs to match? I have a 340g ish Bee and a couple other in the 320g that I want to match.

Amazing idea and thread. I've finally gotten through reading every post. I'm game! I'm here in Orlando FL. Please put me on the list and keep me posted. Upon receipt of the racquet I should be able to get video and have it back in the mail within 3-5 business days. I really enjoy these racquets and play them regularly in my rotation. Here are my current bumblebees.

An update:
I’m currently trying to get a hit but the weather lately has been crap. This week alone is going to be raining. I’ll keep on the look out if the weather changes. The latest I would try to get a hit is Saturday. Thanks for being patient!

Just got caught back up on the thread. Love the meetup. I live Bay Area adjacent so we could totally have had one here.

As once upon a time there was a headband in the box. And to be clear not calling anyone out as I held the Bee hostage against its will an extra week and a half than I intended...still have not received the head band. This should be easy to sort out once I get It a quick sign and send it along. @onehandbh any updates with your brother sending along the headband on your behalf?

I know the box that it came in has signatures of the peeps, but do you guys mind if I put it in a USPS Flat Rate box instead? That way it’s cheaper to send off and I’ll make sure to pack it nice and safe.

I'll check with my brother.

btw, I think I got stung by a bee. I was very intrigued after hitting with the bumblebee and just picked up a 630 candycane.

Checking to see if you finally received it? My brother said it has shipped and according to tracking should have arrived.

HEY!! If you happen to get the bee, let me know we can do a "twofer"! I'm also in orlando florida, we could meet up and hit with it, both sign the legendary bandanna ! I am also a regular user of some legendary HEAD sticks you all may know of:
These are my two main go to racquets: A sexy Austrian 365g PT280, and a PT57A with graphene prestige MP paintjob ....the bee will be in VERY good company ! At the very least, we should meet up and hit Cpt. Rogers, I live 5 minutes from the USTA national campus :D

I was there last weekend! You should have said hi.

Update: So I’ve slightly under the weather and haven’t had a good day to go outside and hit. It’s been windy yet cold these past few weeks. I’ll try my best to get a session in this Thursday. Sorry if you guys have been waiting for too long!

You will love that frame. Second only to the K90 in my experience

I may be switching from the 95D b/c grommets are no longer available for it.
So far the candidates are:

PS85 (familiar, but less power & spin)
Spectrum 90 (less power but nice, high launch angle)
Pro Tour 630 (need more time with it)
Zebra 630 (have not tried yet)

Grommets are still available for the Zebra & PT630 so I am leaning toward them. I get more power & spin from the 95D, though.

Try the Zebra with Volkl Cyclone 18g at 44#. Power, LOTS of spin, great feel.

I’m glad you found the bandana! So here’s an update: I got the session in and recorded the video. All I need to do is edit the vid and upload it on here. As for right now I’m out of town till after Christmas. I honestly don’t know when I’m coming back home but it’s before NYs for sure. If you want @FedLIKEnot, you could ship the bandana to me so that it can be with the racquet when I ship it out again.

Have you found any difference between the different colored cyclone 18s?
Read the comments and some people feel there is a difference between the black, orange & yellow colored versions of the strings.
I've been using black 17g, but thinking of trying 18g.
I’ve only played the black!

Me, too, but in 17g.

Am thinking of trying the 18g based on your recommendation.
Which racquets (and tension) have you tried the 18g on?

I'm also planning on switching out the grommets on my zebra to CAPS and adding a leather grip.
Try the 18L as well, as it seems to provide additional spin. I used it in my 16/20 Fischer Vacuum Pro 95, and it was great, and I will be using it with my other tight string pattern racquets. It had great power, spin, and excellent control. I was very impressed. When it comes to the colours, so far I like black the best. Tried the pinky-red in 1.30mm and wasn't as impressed as with the 17 gauge black I tried first, nor the 18L black I just mentioned. I will try the yellow at some point... but so far (for me) the black is much better.
