Looking forward to Shelton's next match......let's see what you got and who answers the call.

Shelton is looking pretty good. He hit a serve at 148 mph during today’s match and he had a 98 mph FH. He hits very big. He should face Sinner in the QF. But I should honestly count the chickens after they hatch. So I will watch the Sinner vs Dimitrov match coming up soon.

I will pick Sinner in 4 over Dimitrov. Sinner is due for a bad set.

Shelton will give Sinner a bigger test than Dimitrov. He's one of the few players that can give Sinner some trouble with his power and variety but obviously Sinner will be the big favorite.

Hoping for a Djokovic -Alcaraz final .. think it could be a lot more interesting than Sinner - Alcaraz. Saw Sinner playing live at Halle and he was very one-dimensional. Not sure if he has a Plan B if one is required.

Damn Dimitrov. Would literally be 3rd time he looked promising in later stage of a Slam to fall to injury. Why the conditioning???

Alcaraz is the tennis equivalent of the Sentry, nearly unbeatable at his best, but his mental lapses and topsy turvy momentum swings are what hold him back.
Hold back from? He's winning everything and about win his 2nd year-end-#1 before the age of 23 :-D
Plus i hate it when Carlos wins in straight sets, because i only like matches that have tension and pressure.

I’m very glad that I haven’t been watching this event since Med lost to see what happened today. Just heard about it. There truly is no heart or justice in the game of tennis. I don’t have any more words.

Wimbledon 2025 has been full of surprises from the off.

Even take the men's 4th round matches, if I had said yesterday afternoon that Alcaraz and Novak would lose the first set to Rublev and De minaur and end up in real tough battle to get through, you would gave thought that bit far fetched.

However, if I had followed that up by then telling you that Sinner would ve fighting for his life at 2-0 down in sets and 2-2 in 3rd, you would have probably thought I was demented.

Guess that is why I love sport and particularly tennis, because nothing is eve4 100% certain.

As of now I think the favorites are only 3.

1. Alcaraz - this guy form is irrelevant. He is on 18 match win streak at Wimbledon and 21 match win streak since rome start. That's it.

2. Sinner - after raz this guy moves the best on grass today. His serve is big enough. And forehand +1 great. He is second favorite.

3. Djokovic - he is not the top candidate simply because of age. If a random player plays like him , he would be easily third favorite. Lost just 1 set.

Rest of the 5 players are Shelton , fritz , cobolli, Norrie and Khachanov. They are here to add depth. They don't look to be winning the trophy at all.

It's right down the middle. I think both are underrated grass players , fritz has very smooth flat backhand but he also moves the worst out of the remaining 8.

My take - KK leads 2-0 head-to-head, but faced lesser competition than Fritz this Wimbledon.
Luckily Fritz got much needed rest from Thompson retiring.

He should edge this out, but never know. My prediction Fritz in 4.

Nice , did not know about the h2h.

Khachanov despite the lesser competition had more physical route.

I’d actually bump Novak up to number two after today. He played his worst match of the tournament but it was still a good sight better than Sinner’s round of 16. I think his experience and variety should give him the edge should those two meet in the semis.

Yes there is argument. But sinner is moving much faster than Djokovic. I see Djokovic vs sinner as huge problem for Djokovic.

Did Murray have a point? Was the decision to close the roof in the middle of the Sinner vs Dimitrov match really that bad, and do you think it led to Dimitrov’s injury?

Idiotic decision to close the roof when there was at least an hour of good light left. Its supposed to be an outdoor tournament. Close the roof only if it rains or the light has faded too much. Leave the roof open and either the match is over or it goes 2-1 and they can close the roof then.

I would tend to agree, but perhaps they were just worried that if the next set was say heading to tie break and light went, then they might have to close roof at say 5-5 or 6-6 which would not have been ideal.

I agree, it really felt unnecessary to close the roof so early. The whole point of Wimbledon is outdoor tennis, and the conditions were still fine. Sometimes these decisions break the players’ focus or even affect their game. Maybe they should trust the players and umpires more with these calls instead of rushing to close the roof.
