Has anyone seen/played with the PT57a in a Radical MP Bumblebee? I recently got an OS Bumblebee. Seller contacted me about another Bumblebee available but with the PT57a and asking $135. 9.5/10 condition per seller.
Amazing stick which I used just earlier today. Definitely one of my favorites, especially CAP'ed, and has a beautiful yellow paint job. Really highly recommend.

Just put CAPs on my Radical Tour Twin Tubes. Best decision ever.
CAP-ing my Radical MP/Tours (LM, TT, Bumblebee) was definitely an awesome decision as well. The feel is even better, incredible stability, and it really helps customization since you get tons of added SW and TW. Also the frame is protected by the CAPs which is always an added plus to the performance benefits.

waiting on seller...i will pass the info along to you here if I don't. I just spent a boat load of money on dj gear...it's valentines day...10 year anniversary coming up...ARGH! I mean YES!

Much appreciated. I'm in Canada though so the shipping would kill it. It's been cheaper for me to source frames in Europe than get them next door in the USA believe it or not.

gotcha. What parts of Canada are you from? I wonder how this would play compared to my iPrestige which I believe is a pt57e. $135 for a frame...hhhhmmm...

Hi, Did you cap your Bumblebee? I am planning to cap one of mine to see how it plays, but not sure if it will affect the maneuverability. I know it is personal preference, but which poly string do you like in it? Thanks

Haven't had the courage to do that yet. They are pretty hefty already. I have a few sets of LM Prestige MP CAPs lying around if i decide to.

I have couple of TK238 grommets. I will cap one of my Bumblebee and try Tourbite (maybe 1.20 or 1.25). Thanks for the suggestion.

I capped my Candycane & I like it better than regular bumper guard. Don't have the guts to cap the Zebras, they are pretty wild alreadyo_O

Any string (poly only) suggestion for Bumblebee MP?

Depends whether you like stiff strings or softer strings... round or shaped...

Rounded:

Yonex Poly Tour Pro 17 gauge; Kirschbaum Super Smash (Honey) 17 gauge; Kirschbaum Pro Line Evolution and Pro Line X (Both 17 gauge); Tourna Black Zone 17 gauge

Shaped:

Volkl Cyclone (Black) 17 gauge; Kirschbaum Spiky Black Shark 17; Luxilon Savage (Black); Solinco Hyper-G 17; Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable

Thank you for the suggestions. I like shaped a bit more than round polies. Cyclone, Hyper G and Wilson Revolve are my go to strings. Currently my Bumblebee is strung with Cyclone 19G (1.10mm), but I didn't like it. Maybe I should try 17G Cyclone. I have a set of Ultra Cable, I will try next time as well as Tourbite.

Thanks again

No problem... with Ultra Cable, I think the tension needs to be lower (below 50 lbs) and it could also be pre-stretched to reduce tension loss.

I've just tried Weiss Cannon Red Ghost 1.18mm, which is shaped and has a higher spin value on TW. I've strung it in my Tecnifibre 315 Limited (2013) 18 mains (which is the Tecnifibre copy of the PT57A) @ 50M/48C (for a Dynamic Tension of 38). Played with it for the first time today (both the racquet and the strings) and it plays AWESOME. Great ball pocketing, excellent control, awesome angles and very comfortable. Now I just have to see how long the string lasts before it goes dead... if it's acceptable, this could become one of my go-to strings... remains to be seen...

I have a PT57e. I prefer the Bumblebee.
Can you elaborate a bit why? I am playing with the i.Prestige now (pt57e) but also have two bumblebees lying in the closet. After playing with the Zebra for over a year I switched tot the i.Prestige for its manoeuvrability and because it gives me more response. The Zebra is very very muted. All pt57's though!

I have a pro stock, so i think i would need to tweak the lead placement a bit. Don't get me wrong, it's a great racquet! I just seem to play a little better with the Bees.

Would you say the bee is more powerful than the pt57e? I sometimes think i am robbing myself of power just a little bit.

I’m using cyclone 17 gauge and it feels terrific at 44 pounds

General question... is there such thing as a stiff PT57 that doesn’t feel like crap? Which of the PT57 frames is generally considered to be the stiffest? Thanks guys....

Muster had a very stiff makeup on his and Murray apparently has a slightly stiffer PT57A.

A stiffer PT57A would no longer be a PT57A.
You can get a PT57E if you want something stiffer. If you need something more stiffer than just go with the current Graphene Prestige MP.

What kind of person would spend like ten thousand euros on a tennis racquet. No. I know about that website but I will never buy anything from there, the person that owns that is absolutely insane charging those kind of prices for tennis racquets (also it is not an auction site, it is entirely graymarket retail)
Totally agree, that guy is insane, just profiting from the fact that Head only sells us a bunch of crap.

I'm pretty sure to recall that I somewhere here I read of two PT630 "special layup editions", called S.E.1 and S.E.2, which are significantly stiffer (something like 66-67RA unstrung), and that Muster used one of those layup.

I have no idea why they (possibly) made such a stiffer layup for a PT57A, which has in soft/plush (and I would say "unique") feel its best quality...

Need some feedback from the US based posters...

I have a German seller selling 6 bumblebee's that has had them blacked out and matched and capped with TK238 CAP Grommets, Pro Buttcaps/Pallets and finest Head Calfskin. He said he would include 3 extra cap grommets per racquet. These are the unstrung specs...

All six have matching specs and have never been used after being blacked out and unstrung.

Pattern: 18x20
Gripsize: L3 (4 3/8)
Weight: 340 grams unstrung
Balance: 319 mm unstrung
RA: 61-63 (according to Ring n Roll)
Length: 68,5 cm standard
Grommets: Full Cap TK238

How much would you guys pay (at the most) per racquet?

I know it ultimately comes down to what I will pay...but would just like a general idea on what people would pay. I don't want to over pay on them, but don't want to low ball the guy. But given the conversion of Euros to Dollars and shipping it could get pricey. He has had them for sale since August 2017.

Also I've never actually played with one.

They were customized by RingRoll, and are in decently good condition. I don't know if I would ever pay more than $300 for a racquet, but these are good so I would say like 200-300 dollars each racquet.

So what would be the most you'd pay per racquet US dollars?

I'm not based in US.
Anyway it depends mainly in what you are looking for.
If you really love the "blacked out" paint job and need few rackets perfectly matched, then they can worth also 300$ maybe.
Otherwise you can find them in classic "Bumblebee paint" in mint condition for 200$ or less.

I would never pay 300$ for a 20 years old frame in used condition and repainted! Doesn’t Mater they are coustomized by RR, they are 20 years old.
You can buy a litghtly used PT57a in new pj at arround 400$ and even a better option, in my opinion, are new H22 or H19 for that money.
Just be patient and search daily on SF.

My PT57E has more flex than PT630. Probably the latter is S.E.2. Feels much more stable than i.Prestige.
